In his fine piece on the coming Borking of Jeff Sessions in this a.m.’s TAS, George Neumayr cites the febrile New York Times editorial which rehashes all the baseless charges of racism against Sessions. The editorial contains the usual left phantasms and amounts to little more than a lament that Sessions refuses to become a good liberal and take his marching and voting orders from the Deep Thinkers at the NYT.
We have our own Times here in Tampa where I live. It’s called the Tampa Bay Times, and it’s as relentlessly leftist in its editorials and its news columns as its counterpart in Manhattan. In its editorial mugging of Sessions it gigs him for agreeing with Donald Trump on most issues of the day, and it includes, among its vague charges and specifications, the knee-slapper that Sessions attitude toward same-sex marriage is “prehistoric.”
Barack Obama said he was opposed to same-sex marriage until he “evolved” on the subject in 2012. Mz Hillary only got with it in 2013. Apparently for the Tampa Bay Times, history began in the second decade of the 21st century.
