Tim Cavanaugh writes today in Reason on the inanity of using partisanship as a shield against reality, wherein a columnist, for example, argues straight-faced against the “lie” that taxpayers fund public pensions.
Lord. I’m not one to go around quoting Ayn Rand this early in the day, but Cavanaugh’s column reminded me of the Objectivist’s famous maxim, “We can evade reality, but we cannot evade the consequences of evading reality.”
And if Wisconsin is any indication, there are a lot of people organizing to make sure those consequences are as dire as possible.
