LGBT Pride Month

Those of us of a certain age can remember the shame Americans felt over the national humiliation on the fall of Saigon in 1975. We’re not seeing much evidence of that, on the anticipated fall of Baghdad, which doesn’t even seem to be interfering with Obama’s golf game. What’s the difference between then and now? I suspect that any sense of national shame is counterbalanced by the pride people take in the great strides we’ve made on gay marriage and LGBT rights.
