Donald Trump’s first moves as president regarding the Jewish people were as follows:
Invite Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to America in February during a phone call January 22 the Sunday after the Friday Inauguration (and Jewish Sabbath.) From a statement from the White House:
“The President emphasized the importance the United States places on our close military, intelligence, and security cooperation with Israel, which reflects the deep and abiding partnership between our countries,” the White House said in a statement on the call.“The President and the Prime Minister agreed to continue to closely consult on a range of regional issues, including addressing the threats posed by Iran. The President affirmed his unprecedented commitment to Israel’s security and stressed that countering ISIL and other radical Islamic terrorist groups will be a priority for his Administration,” the statement added.“The President emphasized that peace between Israel and the Palestinians can only be negotiated directly between the two parties, and that the United States will work closely with Israel to make progress towards that goal.”Netanyahu’s office also released a statement.“The Prime Minister expressed his desire to work closely with President Trump to forge a common vision to advance peace and security in the region, with no daylight between the United States and Israel,” the statement said.
The men also discussed the Iran nuclear deal, the Middle East peace process and “other issues,” according to the statement.
Trump renewed commitment that he’d like to move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. This has lots of people upset.
He has denounced the Iran nuclear deal.
He has approved of the expanded Israeli settlements.
These are just a few of the President’s pro-Israel positions. And yet, his statement about the Holocaust is causing leftwing Democrats who happen to be Jewish consternation:
“It is with a heavy heart and somber mind that we remember and honor the victims, survivors, heroes of the Holocaust. It is impossible to fully fathom the depravity and horror inflicted on innocent people by Nazi terror.
“Yet, we know that in the darkest hours of humanity, light shines the brightest. As we remember those who died, we are deeply grateful to those who risked their lives to save the innocent.
“In the name of the perished, I pledge to do everything in my power throughout my Presidency, and my life, to ensure that the forces of evil never again defeat the powers of good. Together, we will make love and tolerance prevalent throughout the world.”
That seems okay, right? It’s understood that the Jewish people suffered most in the Holocaust. With President Trump’s previous actions, it seems obvious that he’s pro-Israel. With his closest advisor being his Jewish son-in-law Jared Kushner, it seems obvious that Donald Trump is both politically and personally invested in the well-being of the Jewish people.
So what’s happening here?
Blowing up the Holocaust Remembrance statement and accusing Donald Trump of being anti-semitic shores up a needed Democrat base. In addition, it puts the President on the defensive after so effectively standing up for Jewish people in Israel.
It is notable that the media frothing about the Holocaust statement have said nothing about the terroristic threats against Jewish community centers and Temples across America. Have you heard about this?
The Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center in Whitefish Bay has been temporarily closed Tuesday following an unspecified threat.
In an email to members, JCC President and CEO Mark Shapiro said there was a “safe and calm full evacuation of our facilities” and the building is closed. A robo-call to parents with children enrolled in programs at the facility said the closure followed a threat, the specifics of which weren’t detailed.
A JCC spokesman referred questions to Whitefish Bay police, who didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
Jewish community centers across the country have received bomb threats in recent weeks, though no such attacks have been carried out. The Anti-Defamation League reported two weeks ago that centers in 18 states had received bomb threats on the same day.
News outlets in several cities are reporting several bomb threats were made against centers Tuesday morning. They include San Diego, Calif.; Boulder, Colo.; New Haven, Conn.; Syracuse, N.Y.; and Salt Lake City, Utah.
Not a word right?
Boulder, La Jolla, Albany, Whitefish Bay, Salt Lake City, New Haven, Worcester, Dewitt/Syracuse JCCs all targeted. Many targeted 2 wks ago. https://t.co/gY6SW9mucv

If the Left really cared about Jewish people, they’d be trumpeting about the harassment of Jewish people in America and the threats they’re receiving, but they’re not.
If the Left really cared about security for Jewish people, they’d support more thorough vetting to prevent terrorist attacks in the United States.
If the Left really cared about the safety of the Jewish people in Israel, they would focus a spotlight on the Palestinian terrorists who continue to daily bomb Israel.
They don’t. This kerfluffle is about political power and influence, nothing more. Donald Trump is a threat to their power and they know it.
If Jewish people see the Republican party as the pro-Jewish party, the Democrats will be in big trouble.
