In 1984, the Democratic governor of Louisiana, Edwin Edwards, coined what became known as a standard rule of politics. Weighing the high odds for his reelection, Edwards said, “The only way I can lose this election is if I’m caught in bed with either a dead girl or a live boy.” For today’s Democratic Party, only the dead girl part would be disqualifying. Its radical left luminaries have been on a fanatical mission to sexualize children and disparage natural mothers, even by undermining Mother’s Day. They’re invalidating another previously uncontroversial old saying — “as American as apple pie and motherhood.”
This year, woke corporate allies of the Regime gave their customers the extraordinary choice to avoid Mother’s Day advertising. They included companies that practically established the holiday, like Kay Jewelers, Hallmark (Hallmark!), and Kroger. Each sent out an oversensitive email making Mother’s Day sound like Mother’s Death Day. “We know Mother’s Day can be a challenging time,” read the Kay Jewelers message. “Which is why we want to know if you’d rather not receive Mother’s Day related emails.”
As usual, it took a conservative leader like Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk to recognize the new uniform strategy for what it is — leftist orientation. “Brands are bending over backwards to let customers to ‘opt out’ of Mother’s Day,” Kirk tweeted. “Can we opt out of Pride Month spam too?”
The short answer is no. Leftists know the Judeo-Christian nuclear family is the last line of defense against their goal of ultimate statism, so they strike at its weakest element — the children. And Zero Hour is the formerly safe school time, when kids are beyond parental supervision and under institutional control.
Progressives literally fight like hell to impose pornography and gender ideology on kids against the will of most parents, with the infernal support of the media. Witness a once inconceivable headline from ABC News last week: “Trans minors protected from parents under Washington law.” The full article describes a new measure signed by Washington state governor Jay Inslee that allows juvenile shelters to place children in state-sanctioned homes instead of their own, if their parents refuse to support their “gender identity.”
ABC trumpets this horror as another victory over American normalcy. But every word of their headline defies sanity and morality. There is no such thing as “trans minors,” only confused kids emotionally abused by toxic adults — too often their own parents — into chemical and surgical mutilation. Yet these are not the parents from whom they are being “protected.” On the contrary, it is those who love their kids enough to try to pull them out of their delusion that are being targeted by government power and propaganda.
The Daily Wire reported on May 10 that activists in Loudoun County, Virginia, with close ties to Democratic politicians threatened to destroy the lives of conservative parents. Reporter Luke Rosiak uncovered a 2021 Facebook chat called the “Loudoun Love Warriors” that conspired to protect progressive schoolboard members implicit in the coverup of a high school girl’s rape by a “transgender” male student. Chat participants planned to dox and ruin anyone who posed a threat to those leaders. A typical quote stated, “Someone’s gonna get hurt on their side and I hope I get to do it.”
This pathological hostility toward traditionalist parents dominates the entire modern school system from pre-K to college, and children are the weapon. If they can be turned against their parents and God, nothing can stop full Marxist control. And nobody understands this more than people in the trenches.
One of them, eighties’ teen idol (from the TV hit Growing Pains) and longtime Christian family crusader Kirk Cameron sounded the alarm last week. “The target is always children,” Cameron said. “And that’s why God gave children to parents, not to governments, not to woke institutions — that are then staffed and manned by those that [sic] want to undermine the faith and values that made America great, and that advanced the good. So, we shouldn’t be surprised that nefarious forces are targeting children because the goal is, ultimately, the collapse of the family and the killing of God in America.”
And since pro-life Christian mothers comprise much of the Resistance against the anti-family, anti-God agenda, they have been made potential targets of the Biden Administration. A January 2021 internal memo of the Department of Homeland Security’s Office of Terrorism and Violence profiles different dangerous extremists, among them a particularly suspicious type.
“This is Ann, a resident of Elkville in rural America,” one profile reads. “Ann has always been religious but since the death of her mother, she’s become increasingly devout. She’s a regular in the small-town community, active in several church groups. While she has always been protective of her four kids, she has become increasingly concerned about the welfare of other children including the unborn.” This “Ann” ponders if the Bible justifies violence to defend life. She also calls the pro-abortion mayor of her town a baby killer. The DHS scenario raises the question of whether Ann’s hairdresser should contact the local sheriff about her danger potential.
Only paranoid, tyrannical government peons would see a spiritual, humanist mom as a source of domestic terror. Because they don’t understand the incomparable, eternal, beneficial power of motherhood. They’re so deluded, they think anyone can equal it, even men. And that’s why they’ll lose in the end.
For now, let’s hope real moms had a very happy Mother’s Day this year.
