A few notes on the Ukraine War, the bloody part of Cold War II.

My wife and I watched a DVD of Dr. Strangelove last night. It’s a 1964 version, about a rogue SAC commander who has a nervous breakdown because of his fear of fluoridation. He sends his bombers to bomb the USSR. Because Russia has just installed a “Doomsday Device,” even though only one SAC B-52 gets through to its target, a global nuclear war is started, killing all but a few hundred thousand people.

It’s a comedy, but a scary as hell comedy, especially right now. I have watched it at least 15 times and it never truly interrupted my sleep.

Last night, I was terrified. To me and to my wife, a global nuclear war looks not only possible, but a virtual certainty. Why did we listen to people like Teddy “The Killer” Kennedy, and kill Reagan’s genius “Star Wars” defense plan? Can you imagine how much better off the whole world would be?

Thank God for Israel, which really has learned how to kill a bullet with a bullet. Pray that it’s not too late.

Next, of all of the Presidents of all American history, who would be your choice to have as President right now?

Of course, Richard M. Nixon. And we threw him out and went down a path of weakness and appeasement over a totally phony nonexistent crime. Let’s pray we are not making the same mistake again.
