Canada Recalls Ambassador to Russia
by

In light of Russia’s invasion of the Crimean Peninsula, Canada’s Conservative government has recalled its Ambassador to Russia and will boycott G-8 meetings scheduled to be held in Sochi later this year.

So what is the Obama Administration prepared to do? At this point, the Obama Administration isn’t even willing to call it an invasion. Instead, they choose to characterize it as an “uncontested arrival.” I mean it would be like describing an act of terrorism as workplace violence.

President Obama claims that Russia’s actions will have costs. But if President Obama appoints a new Ambassador to Russia (Michael McFaul left the post last week) and sends a delegation to the G-8, then he will once again demonstrate that his words are without meaning.
