Birds and Bunnies and Fidel
by

There remain those who persist in believing that environmentalists are just sweet, cuddly people who like birds and want clean air and water. These folks need to catch up with the latest declaration from Aaron Mair, president of the Sierra Club, which is in fact an upscale Earth worship cult for Lexus lefties with time on their hands and a need to feel good about themselves.

In a Saturday Tweet, Mair declared that Fidel Castro “fought for his country! Still more honor than TRUMP!”

I guess by fighting for his country, Mair means that business about Fidel coming down out of the mountains and shooting up the place in order to replace an authoritarian regime with a totalitarian one. I guess, in a similar vein, it can be said that Stalin, Mao, and Pol Pot also fought for their countries.

The person who has heard Mair or any official of any environmental group criticize any left-wing tyrant is yet to be born. But Mair has called Trump “a threat to the future of our planet.” Lexus Luddites may consider the Donald a threat to the planet. But he’s certainly been a boon to Sierra Club fundraising. Sierra has launched a “fight back against Trump” fundraising campaign. As so many Sierra Clubbers have more expendable income than judgment, the campaign should do well.
