AFL-CIO Audience Cheers & Laughs When Strickland Says Scalia’s Death Happened at a Good Time
by

Liberals have been sanctimonious in their claim that Donald Trump, in his comments on the future composition of the Supreme Court, was calling for the assassination of Hillary Clinton when he spoke of “Second Amendment people” at a rally in North Carolina on Tuesday.

However, these same liberals have spared Ted Strickland from the same sanctimony when he spoke about the future composition of the Supreme Court. On Monday, the former Ohio Governor who is trying to unseat Rob Portman in the Senate, said this at an Ohio AFL-CIO rally outside of Cleveland:

My friends a lot of average citizens out there don’t understand the importance of that court.

I mean, the death of Scalia saved labor from a terrible decision. And I don’t wish anyone ill, but it happened at a good time, because once that decision had been made it would have been tough to reverse it.

Donald Trump never said Hillary Clinton’s death would be a good thing. But liberals everywhere condemned him for inciting violence.

But Ted Strickland said Justice Scalia’s death was a good thing. Did any of these liberals condemn Strickland? Not on your life.

Because what’s more telling is that when Strickland said that Scalia’s death saved labor from a terrible decision the audience cheered. When Strickland said he didn’t wish ill upon Scalia, the audience erupted in laughter. Have a listen for yourself.

Liberals can criticize Trump to their heart’s content, but the audience at Trump’s rally in North Carolina neither cheered nor laughed at his “Second Amendment people” remark.

To be fair, Strickland did apologize for the remark. But I bet you that no one in that AFL-CIO audience is sorry for cheering the death of Justice Anton Scalia.
