Good news, folks: our country has progressed to the point at which many of our countrymen enjoy the resources to send their children to summer camp on chartered private jets.
Thanks to the New York Times for passing along this uplifting story. I can only imagine what a benchmark this represents for those among us old enough to remember when jets were unheard of, and even the very richest of our society had to suffer long rides in slow, breakdown-prone, and unsafe cars to get from state to state. I’m not sure that chartered jet trips to summer camp is how I’d spend my money (if I had it), but I can hardly wait for more and more people to be able to afford regular trips in private jets or other reliable and fast transportation.
I am guessing that the folks at the Center for American Progress are overjoyed to learn about this phenomenon, which marks an advance in human progress. Right?
