An audience member proposes a post-Bush series of trials and dialogues in the United States based on the South African truth and reconciliation councils. Edwards thinks it “makes a lot of sense,” but he’ll need to ponder the “constructs” a bit more. Then an atheist asks him about levels of God-fear among candidates, and whether it is appropriate. Edwards turns it around on him and asks whether he has a problem with the word “moral.”
“You don’t have to believe in God to be moral,” the man says.
“That’s great,” Edward beams.
I have a call into God, but at press time it had not been returned.
