As far as that goes, Perry is exactly the right Republican candidate if you’re someone who wants a Democrat to win the next presidential election. He is everything that non-Texans and moderates and independents think is wrong with the GOP, not so much what he believes (which is not too far out of the mainstream of the GOP’s conservative base) but how he comes across as mean and not very bright.
I hope he’s smart enough not to run for president again, though I’m confident he would not win the GOP nomination even if he did run.
