Tim Tebow will not be on the New York Jets’ roster next season. He was reportedly informed of his release after arriving to the Jets’ training center in Florham Park to work out this morning.
Staying true to character, Tebow tweeted a Bible passage in response to the disappointing news: “Proverbs 3:5-6: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Tebow led the Denver Broncos in 2011 to a division title, but with the Jets he was never the game-changer he had been as an all-star Heisman winner at the University of Florida.
Tebow is now a free agent, which means he could be picked up by anyone…or no one. Rumor has it an arena league team is interested in acquiring the statuesque southpaw. He has a lucrative career as a motivational speaker already. He has also mentioned an interest in entering politics. President Tebow? Has a certain ring to it.
