Reining in Rick Perry
by

Someone needs to tell Rick Perry to stop riding fences. In February he went west in a bid to poach businesses from California. Now he’s in Chicago trying to lasso some of their industry giants and get them to move to Texas.

Everything is bigger in Texas, including profits for businesses that take advantage of the Lone Star State’s lower taxes and fewer regulations. But Perry needs to be more selective in his pandering. Who wants a bunch of Californians invading the great nation-state with their tax-funded sex-change operations and no plastic bags ever, not to mention the voting tendencies of people responsible for Senator Obama’s rise to political power? You can take the liberal out of the blue state, but can you take the blue state out of the liberal?
