It may have been easier for me to overlook the anti-Semitic comments Mel Gibson made in his recent drunken tirade had this been an isolated incident, but given that it has been a part of a pattern for him, most glaringly with his failure to distance himself from his father’s hateful comments several years ago, it’s much harder for me to dismiss. Do I claim, based on his drunken antics, to know what Gibson really feels in his heart and soul?
