It did not appear that Romney was able to change the dynamic in the debate last night. It looks grim but not hopeless today. This and this suggest a solid but not insurmountable lead for McCain. A puny crowd is not a good sign however and this report makes his pitch sound a bit cloying. Finally, a remarkably insightful and honest assessment (from a sympathetic source) of his difficulties is here. However, I am taking a vow of no more predictions (at least public ones) and no more “he’ll never” or “he can’t possibly” pronouncements.
