The Kennedy Watch

It now turns to Joe Kennedy, the former congressman and nephew of the late senator, to decide whether to keep Ted Kennedy's Senate seat in the family. The younger Kennedy has been out of the House for over a decade and decided to take a pass on two consecutive gubernatorial races (1998 and 2002) due to family problems. But he has kept a high public profile through his appearances in Citizens Energy commercials and he is of course a Kennedy. He would clear some fairly strong candidates out of the primary field, though the Boston Globe story linked above suggested Congressman Stephen Lynch of South Boston and Attorney General Martha Coakley would still run for the Democratic nomination anyway.

Customer: Are you sure this place is honest?
Carl: Honest? As honest as the day is long!

Why Not Caroline?

Seriously, what the heck do they put in the water up there?

Far be it from me to disagree, but isn't it up to the people of Massachusetts to decide if we want to keep the seat in the Kennedy family?

Is Congressman Patrick Kennedy out of rehab yet? Perhaps he would be a fine replacement for Ted. His driving skills while DUI are similar. Didn't Pat drive Into the US Capital building last year? Literally?

Yes, it IS up to the people of Massachussetts to decide their senator. That being said, it doesn't speak much for the people of Massachussetts over the past 40 years or so.

Massachussetts should be given back to England.

Apparently, they like to be ruled by royalty, rather than governed.

They're also hypocrites, since they bitched and bitched about there being two Bush presidencies.

I'm gonna tell you a story
I'm gonna tell you about my town
I'm gonna tell you a big bad story, baby
Aww, it's all about my town

Yeah, down by the river
Down by the banks of the river Charles (aw, that's what's happenin' baby)
That's where you'll find me
Along with lovers, fuggers, and thieves (aw, but they're cool people)
Well I love that dirty water
Oh, Boston, you're my home (oh, you're the Number One place)
