Expect to have more later, but worth noting for now that the just concluded Obama health care town hall meeting included questions from a single-payer advocate, a liberal activist from Health Care for Americans now, and a member of the SEIU, who asked what she could do to help Obama pass health care reform. Not much news generated, but I'm sure the media will focus on the moment when Obama hugged and promised to help a woman who said she has a tumor that she cannot afford to get treated.

President Obama tries to pass off these campaign style events as real townhall forums, which they are not. Unless you are already convinced, such media spots will not persuade.

These "townhalls" are a joke! It is obvious to even the most biased observer that the questions are arranged ahead of time and that Obama is lobbed softball after softball. When will the cable networks decide to stop airing them and discuss real news? I'd rather hear about Michael Jackson's will than sit through another one of these phony events....

Unfortunately this is the way we are governed today, by the rule of exceptions. The Constitution doesn't say a darn thing about health care and I can't find a single amendment that says the government will pay for people's prescription drugs.

I just had to pay $800 for 4 tires for my SUV, I wish Obama had a plan for that. Maybe if I show up at one of these staged events and whine about the high price of tires, I can get a government hand out.

I no longer can tolerate watching anything Obama says, even on Fox. Take note, anytime he's on, which seems to be always, networks will start losing viewers. Maybe I'll start again when the press does their job, I can't wait to see him reveal his true trite attitude. Anyone see Juan Williams filling in for oReilly? That was a treat, didn't know Juan had it in him. He went after the White House talking head way better than OReilly would have done. I think OReilly has fallen into a pandering mode as Obama stabs at Fox, OReilly wants to be the above it all guy, he's starting to lose me. If I have ignored the subject here, the town hall meeting, it is because there was NOTHING valuable to be gleened by it, with the exception that Obama continues to fail by never engaging any issue, and never leaving his safe zone propter, or script. Empty suit in every department.
