Associated Press Leaps More Leftward

The New York Times reports that the Associated Press — the worldwide news service that every formerly mainstream news organization uses — will distribute stories from four leftist nonprofits in addition to its own liberal reporting.

The New York Times reports that the Associated Press — the worldwide news service that every formerly mainstream news organization uses — will distribute stories from four leftist nonprofits in addition to its own liberal reporting:

Starting on July 1, the A.P. will deliver work by the Center for Public Integrity, the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University (cranks out many of the FMSM journalists), the Center for Investigative Reporting, and ProPublica to the 1,500 American newspapers that are A.P. members, which will be free to publish the material.

The A.P. called the arrangement a six-month experiment that could later be broadened to include other investigative nonprofits, and to serve its nonmember clients, which include broadcast and Internet outlets.

Newspapers are still useful for starting bonfires and lining birdcages, ya know.

Just like you don't want to inhale smoke from burning poison oak, I wouldn't want to inhale smoke from burning MSM newspapers. It'll make you sick...perhaps it will get regulated by the FDA too.

But wait a minute--for years the media have been telling us they're 'NEUTRAL'; that it's all in our heads.

Liberals lie.

Paul, as a ferreter for a number of years, I can positively report that there is no place my boodle would rather poop than directly on the printed editorial page of the local AP outlet....

Feel free to add that to your recognized uses list...

Cheers!!

"Accusations of Leftist Bias at AP Confirmed" would be more like it.

This is not shocking, but simply a continuation of the exclamation, GREETINGS, COMRADES!!!!

Thank you for the interest in the Associated Press pilot project that will assist nonprofit investigative journalism organizations' efforts to widely distribute their content. With almost twenty years under its belt, the Center for Public Integrity's investigative stories and projects have been featured by a broad spectrum of media outlets and organizations. With that said, we’d like to correct the statement in your story that the Center is a "leftist nonprofit." Since its founding, the Center has always been non-partisan and non-advocacy, never endorsing or advancing any political party, position or policy. The Center's work is deeply rooted in the analysis of substantive public data and producing original investigative journalism that makes institutional power more transparent and accountable. That's not "liberal reporting," that's good journalism which evidently both the public and media want more of.

The Center's work on the roots of the financial meltdown, the onslaught of lobbyists seeking to influence climate change legislation, outside interests sponsoring Pentagon officials' travel and many other investigations, have been widely cited not only by the mainstream media, but also by websites and organizations that span the political spectrum, including various members of Congress, The Heritage Foundation, Cato Institute, Foxnews.com, Washington Times, and Las Vegas Sun, to name a few. The Center also counts on a diverse mix of foundations and individual donors for its financial support. I encourage you to check out the Center's website, which features all of our investigative projects and stories. www.publicintegrity.org.

Thank you,

Steve
