I find the accounts of his activities in the gay community to be highly credible since most are from former close friends of roommates of his. Bite me, Javier. "As long as Drudge aids and abets homophobia . . ." What exactly does that mean? Such a statement is entirely dependent on the pejorative connotation of "homophobia," which is one of those smear words whose meaning gets too little scrutiny.

Do you mean to say, Javier, that all heterosexuals suffer from a mental disorder characterized by an irrational fear of homosexuality? Or does that word apply only to opponents of the political agenda of radical gay-rights leaders? How is it that a disagreement over a policy issue like same-sex marriage results in this diagnosis of mental illness among more than half the electorate?

Homophobia literally means a "fear of man." By that definition aren't lesbians homophobic? I always like to use the left's terms/arguments againt it. So if I disagree with homosexual marriage it is because of a mental disorder based on an irrational fear? Hmmmm, what about folks on the left who disagree with private gun ownership? Based on an irrational fear/mental disorder too?

Anyway Ran is right, we don't care if he dates men, women, or goats. Now, when he demands society recognize as normal the dating or goats, or the marrying of goats, well, that's different. :)

Well said, Crusader. The knee-jerk accusation of "homophobia" against conservatives is a variation of the Adorno/Frankfurt School tactic of smearing conservatives as latent fascists. This tactic was given mainstream currency by Richard Hofstadter's "paranoid style" thesis -- a concept clearly intended as a smear against the Goldwater movement.

The amazing thing is that, despite the Left's decades-long habit of employing the Adorno/Hofstadter smear, so many conservatives have never learned to recognize -- and to denounce -- this dishonest tactic for what it is.

Crusader, "homo" is a Greek prefix meaning the same--as in homogeneous, homologous. Homosexual means one who is sexually attacted to the same sex. Homophobia therefore literally means fear of the same. It is my opinion that imprecise use of language is a symptom of unclear thought. As a libertarian, I say live and let live.

Javier is typical of how far the Gay Community has sunk in their willingness to be lapdogs for the Left.

1) Just because a man is gay is no reason to out him in the hope that somehow that will change his views.

2) Why do the gays support a movement - Liberalism - that defends dictatorships, Communism and Islam - all three of which actively and publicly repress and kill their gay members.
Conservatives and Christians have a problem with gays as a moral issue. There is no reason to believe rightwingers or Christians will hunt down gays in a Western country and kill them nor are gays in any danger in the West of serious oppression.
Try this - go to the countries Obama and the Liberals in this country support - Iran, China, any of the South American dictatorships and try organizing a gay rights march there. See how long you last.
Your problem is not Drudge. Your problem with Drudge is that he pulls more hits that your silly leftwing news outlets who have been recognized for the Liberal shills that they are. Well said RSM! Your reply to Javier is right on the mark. I disagree in a limited way with Interested Conservative. For years the left has attempted to close off argument and silence those that disagree with them. Rather than reply with substance they diminish and demean. The idea is to marginalize our views and drive us from the square. They try to silence us with the shrillness of their scream.
I agree with you completely that his opinions or concerns matter do not to anyone, but, and this is a significant but, the time has come when we must aggressively respond as RSM has done.
We need to reject out of hand their tactics and argument, if they wish to engage in a vigorous debate of ideas fine, if they choose on the other hand to resort to name calling and insult then they need to be called on it and ignored unless they are in close physical proximity which opens up a wide variety of response options.

It doesn't matter one way or another, but maybe Drudge has seen the way conservative's (and those perceived to be conservative) families and friends get destroyed by the media. Perhaps he is protecting those he loves as much as he's protecting himself.

It's possible. Another possibility is that liberals are the least fun people to be around. Their parties suck. I have many liberal friends and I avoid their shindigs like the dentist. I'd much rather stay home than deal with those self-obsessed loons.
