At Least Bush is Classy

Eight years ago, Bill Clinton held a huge to-do at Andrew AFB right at a time that detracted directly from a key ceremonial part of Bush's inaugural festivities -- some key part of the parade, if I remember correctly. It was televised, self-indulgent, self-reverential, and way overlong. It was Clinton doing the "me, me, me, me, me, me!" routine. And it was utterly classless, one last attempt to hold onto attention on what really was, and should have been, Bush's day.

Tomorrow, Bush shows how it really ought to be done. From a WH press release:

1:25 pm          THE FORMER PRESIDENT makes Remarks at Departure Ceremony
Andrews Air Force Base – Hangar 6 | Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland
                        CLOSED PRESS

Note that: CLOSED PRESS. It will not be televised. It will be low-key. It will not take the focus away from Obama on Obama's day.

What that is, is CLASS. Not as in social strata, but as classiness, an element of character. It speaks well of Bush.

Meanwhile, I guarantee that the exiting Bush staffers won't vandalized the White House offices, leaving juvenile booby traps and ruined computer keyboards, the way the puerile Clinton staffers did when they left office.....

No more Mr Nice Guy! Time to get even! You guys better trash the place and post that nice New Yorker cover with the Bill of rights burning in the fireplace. And don't forget the "O's" and the "A's" on those keyboards!

"It will not take the focus away from Obama on Obama's day. "
Ha, ha, ha,ha, ha, ha, ha,ha, ha,ha, lol lolvlol... had me going. Bush couldn't take the focus from Obama. He is classless, clueless, and brainless. lol.

I think it only fitting that President Bush graciously give way to Abraham Barack Obama Lincoln II.

There's a Hussein in there somewhere if I'm not mistaken, along with the Father, Son and Holy Ghost.

Bill Clinton has always been a spoiled, whiny
mamma's boy who throws a hissy-fit when he
doesn't get his own way.

He is, and always has been, completely lacking
in class, character and honor. And, yet, the
slobbering left still fawns all over him.

Of course, hordes still fawn over O.J. Simpson
and Charlie Manson, too.

Pathetic...

I love President Bush and Laura. I thank them for
the love and grace they brought to our great house. I thank them for keeping us safe. They are Christians and they would never lie under oath or do anything to disgrace our house. Our Great House will be filled with liars and cheats today, but God is still in control whether they want him to be or not........

Pres. Bush' s character, demeanor, & behavior truly sets him apart from Clinton. GWB will always be my president; don't even need history to judge him - HE IS ALREADY ON A PEDESTAL in the hearts & minds of those whose lives he had touched, as a person and as a leader. He has always been true to himself, to his values,
and to his principles. He loved his country more than anything else. God bless you & your family, Mr. President. Well done, good servant!

I believe we can assume that the Bushes won't be stealing any White House artifacts either. The Clintons had a moving van full five-finger discount 'memorabilia.'
God Speed, President Bush, a man who was not appreciated in his time.

Brian| 1.20.09 @ 7:54AM

Bush has class. Those that don't see it are those that don't have any class themselves. Bush, even with his mistakes has outclassed every president since his father.
Bill, on the other hand is about as classless as anyone can get. The reason many don't see it is because they are just like him. He's one of them. Bill is the definition of White Trash.

Ivan Ivanovich| 1.20.09 @ 8:04AM

"five-finger discount?" Thank you! My dad used that term frequently. How about "firemans discount"? That's up 60 down 40.
Or knuckle sandwich?
Oh yea, Thank you George.

Jeremiah| 1.20.09 @ 9:15AM

Thank You Mister President. We miss you already...
paul howard, you know what you can do with your k-y jellied butt? Guess you always knew. Burn in hell, obamite.

I'll never forget Clinton's idiotic, self-serving. low-class long goodbye. You can take the boy out of the trailer park, but you can't trailer park out of the boy. (Apologies to decent people who live in trailer parks.)

ame| 1.20.09 @ 10:13AM

President Bush does have class, unlike Obama who went out to dinner with obnoxious Michelle during Bush's farewell speech to the nation. Obama: pure classlessness - arrogance and self-interest dissembling audacity...and it's just begun!!!!!!!!

ame| 1.20.09 @ 10:15AM

You can take the boy out of Chicago, but you can't take Chicago thug politics out of the boy Soros sock-puppet.

Bobbi| 1.20.09 @ 10:41AM

I will always admire Pres. Bush's grace and class. It has never been about him, it has always been about our country. God bless, sir and thank you.
Paul-Run along now, the adults are talking.

Jack Woodson| 1.20.09 @ 11:37AM

I think removing the "A's" and "H's" might be more appropriate.

ruth| 1.20.09 @ 2:49PM

Glad to see Conservatives still have a sense of humor. We're going to need it.
