Personal Fouls

The vicious smearing of football aficionado Rush Limbaugh.

The Left has opened up a new front in its ongoing efforts to censor conservative voices and to ban conservative political thought from polite society. Their latest target: Rush Limbaugh, who is now being viciously smeared as a black-hating racist.

Of course, the Left has viciously smeared Rush and other conservatives for some time now. That’s their modus operandi; it’s how they operate. But their use of the racist smear has gained new currency of late because Rush and Dave Checketts, managing partner of the St. Louis Blues, are now bidding to buy the National Football League’s St. Louis Rams.

This has caused racial hucksters Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton to formally lobby against Rush’s bid to buy the Rams. Sharpton, in fact, sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell in which he urges the league to reject Limbaugh’s ownership bid because, he wrote, Rush is “divisive and anti-NFL.”

Sharpton’s letter references Rush’s past “comments about NFL players, including Michael Vick and Donovan McNabb, and [Limbaugh’s] recent statement that the NFL was beginning to look like a fight between the Crips and the Bloods without the weapons…”

Jackson, meanwhile, told the Associated Press that Rush has made his career by “‘appealing to the fears of whites’ with an unending line of insults against blacks and other minorities.”

This is rich insofar as Jackson and Sharpton have made their careers by incessantly and shamelessly playing the race card, and doing so from the bottom of the deck. Indeed, throughout his career, Jackson has used the false charge of white racism to intimidate corporations into adopting racial preferences in the name of “affirmative action” (read: “reverse discrimination”).

Sharpton also is an incessant racial ambulance chaser. Sharpton began his career in the early 1980s when he smeared a white district attorney, Steven A. Pagones, with the false charge of racism.

Sharpton charged Pagones with abducting and raping a black teenager, Tawana Brawley, in Wappingers Falls, New York. Pagones was exonerated by a grand jury, but not before his name and his reputation had been dragged through the mud by Sharpton.

Brawley later was ordered to pay Pagones $185,000, while Sharpton and her other “advisers” were forced to pay Pagones $345,000. “Tawana Brawley appears caught up in her own fiction,” said New York State Supreme Court Justice S. Barrett Hickman.

Then as now, Sharpton had absolutely no evidence upon which to cry “white racism,” and he seemed not to care about ruining an innocent man’s career and reputation. In fact, to this day Sharpton has not apologized for his reprehensible behavior in the Tawana Brawley affair.

But that’s not surprising: Apologizing now would call into question Sharpton’s entire career and professional reason for being. It would undermine any new charges of white racism, which he propounds regularly, as he has now against Rush Limbaugh.

In a certain respect, this is not surprising. Sharpton’s racist racket is financially and culturally lucrative; it results in high-paying gigs and television appearances. Sharpton, of course, doesn’t want to mess with success; never mind a little thing like honor and integrity.

In reality, Rush doesn’t have a racist bone in his body, and nothing he has said is in any way racist. What Rush has done is to honestly, courageously and forthrightly address matters of race in America, and he has sometimes done so in ways that are amusing and satirical.

The Left purports to want this. They insist they want to openly and candidly discuss racial matters; hence Attorney General Eric Holder’s speech last February, during Black History Month: “In things racial,” Holder said, “we have always been and continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards.”

“We average Americans simply do not talk enough with each other about race,” Holder continued. “It is an issue we have never been at ease with; and, given our nation’s history, this is in some ways understandable. And yet, if we are to make progress in this area we must feel comfortable enough with one another, and tolerant enough of each other, to have frank conversations about the racial matters that continue to divide us.”

Rush will be on for part 2 this morning, but here's yesterday's Today interview.

Thanks for coming to Rush's defense here; it's the honorable thing to do.

I'm not sure Rush would approve, but if you want hit back boycott the sport. Hit 'em where they live, in the wallet.

Rush looks great, and seems very happy: The best revenge is living well.

Alan Brooks| 10.13.09 @ 8:05PM

But they secretly admire him; Rush is extremely bright without being mired in academia-- and
he has been on the air since the era Oliver North was working for the govt.

Alan Brooks| 10.13.09 @ 8:07PM

see, I go by what they think, not what they-- or anyon-- says.
What they think is: he is tops in his profession.

Alan Brooks| 10.13.09 @ 8:10PM

anyone, not 'anyon'.
Rush is a not only a winner, but a brilliant winner. Now, all that does matter is winning in a Darwinist world, but being brilliant (and dogged) does not hurt.

Mary Louise| 10.13.09 @ 9:21PM

Rush represents the America I know and love. He is a rugged individual.

It was interesting to hear him talk about his rehab. He said it really helped him see some things more clearly; to know himself a little better. He is a lovable fuzzball too; Maha Rushie!

Rugged individualism, which isn't the same thing as atomization and alienation, is still not for the faint-of-heart. And even if I'm not as rugged as Rush, how I admire him and others who are.

A. Brooks| 10.14.09 @ 12:34AM

Rugged individualism, which isn't the same thing as atomization and alienation, is still not for the faint-of-heart. And even if I'm not as rugged as Rush, how I admire him and others who are.
wrong. Sorry. Mary, that is what libertarians think.

Or say. Individualism midwifes atomisation and alienation. I'm a pessimistic conservative, not an optimistic one-- otherwise no point in being at AS.
Gingrich's site would be the place, if i accepted what you wrote above..

Alan Brooks| 10.14.09 @ 12:48AM

"Rugged individualism, which isn't the same thing as atomization and alienation, is still not for the faint-of-heart. And even if I'm not as rugged as Rush, how I admire him and others who are."

if I took this seriously, Mary, then I would be an optimist. There is great commerce-- but that's it. Why do you think youth are so nihilistic today?

Sam| 10.17.09 @ 2:58AM

As an independent and a moderate, there is no question that Rush has a right to free speech. But you look at his quotes and it is clear that he's ignorant, that he has stereotypes about black people. Of course, the left doesn't help when they prance in like the morality police who think they are post-racial and free of prejudice, but what Rush says represents ignorance. He is in need of help, not scorn. It is time moderates like myself stepped in to stop the left wingers and right wingers from distorting everything.

jd| 10.13.09 @ 6:39AM

Anybody with a brain knows that this is just about attacking a CONSERVATIVE, and the left will use any tactic in the playbook to do so. Accusations of racism is always a favorite smear by liberals to silence those with opposing viewpoints. I remember Rush being accused of being anti-women as well, but once I started to actually listen to his program and hear what he said, I realized he was not anti-women and he is by no means anti-black. Rush has every right to buy whatever the hell he wants, regardless if the pc crowd has their underwear tied in knots because of it.

alyeska| 10.15.09 @ 2:02AM

i think it's rush's underwear that's bunched up at the moment -- since he's not being allowed to buy the thing he wants.

ln| 10.13.09 @ 7:25AM

the man is a racist. "the magic negro song" . "slavery had its good points". the man is a racist. racist. racist. he can't stand Obama because of one simple reason. It gauls him that this precious country is ran by a man that is half black.

William| 10.13.09 @ 7:57AM

Is he also a racisct because he did't like Bill Clinton, Al Gore, Jimmy Carter, etc, etc? Seems to be theres' one common denominator - he doesn't like lefits liberals destroying the nation he loves. Obama is just the latest, and probably most dangerous, and happens to be half black, which, I guess, makes him black and not white. Quit your crybaby whining. It's hidious.

Sue| 10.13.09 @ 6:36PM

ln: It was Al Sharpton, Farakkhan, and a Los Angeles editorial that referred to Obama as the "magic one." Farakkhan referred to Obama as the "messiah." It was Sharpton who said Obama wasn't "one of them." Get your head out of where the sun doesn't shine and THINK FOR YOURSELF.

Alan Brooks| 10.14.09 @ 12:51AM

the fact you are on the defensive makes me realize there is nothing left to defend.
game over.

alyeska| 10.15.09 @ 2:04AM

that would be "hideous"

Alice Moore| 10.13.09 @ 8:13AM

in reference to your sentence fragment, Rush was quoting a Liberal LA Times columnist. This was the source of that quote.

Alice Moore| 10.13.09 @ 8:15AM

Oops. I forgot to capitalize the 1st letter of the 1st sentence.

Louis Jenkins| 10.13.09 @ 9:28AM

Barak the Magic Negro was not Limbaugh's brain child. Look to a liberal west coast writer for that nomer, and Barak's own vice president. The lyrics come from those sources. What's more, Limbaugh did not write, nor perform the song, he just plays it from time to time. The problem with satire is that there is always a hint of the truth in it and that leaves the liberals knashing their teeth. (I think Limbaugh said that this morning during his national interview.) And don't forget the Duke Lacrosse Team that was keel hauled by the likes of the Shyster J. Jackson, all over a bald faced lie!! At least Limbaugh's diatribes are based on current news, trends, and facts. Rangle, Sharpton, and Jackson play to the emotions and heart strings of a community that they can plainly take advantage of. They do a great business selling snake oil. Do not have blind faith in Limbaugh, but listen and weigh every word.

Jeremy Stevens| 10.13.09 @ 9:51AM

Looks like IN has disappeared.

Typical Leftist MO: lob maliciously false grenade, then, when people point out your lie, move on.

Has worked for Sharpton & Jackson for years!

Of course, what must truly piss off those two media whores, are Rush's hysterical comedy bits featuring Paul Shanklin parodying the two of them as "The Justice Brothers" LOL

Margie| 10.13.09 @ 3:14PM

Alice,
Now, now~~you mustn't confuse people with the facts!

Simon Templar| 10.13.09 @ 4:47PM

ln is a slanderer, slanderer, slanderer, slanderer! Probably a communist, communist, communist as well!

M.E. Fisher| 10.13.09 @ 7:08PM

You Fool! Do you think that if the president were white and promoting socialism/communism, that we would all love him and his politics?

Linda| 10.14.09 @ 3:27PM

Rush's last marriage was performed by Clarence Thomas. His right hand man, Snerdly, is black.
Is that what you consider racist behavior? Is that all you have?

alyeska| 10.15.09 @ 2:07AM

that would be "family values" marriage number three, right?

heather| 10.15.09 @ 9:07PM

please do not preach to us about family values. How many affairs has Jackson had, how many out of wedlock children does he have? Oh just one. And don't get me started on Reverend Al Sharpton...

alyeska| 10.16.09 @ 2:59AM

i wasn't preaching. i was just pointing out how hypocritical the "family values" crowd is when it comes to one of your own.

the fact that others do something does not give a license to others to do the same thing. so bringing up edwards, et al, doesn't alter the fact that rushbo is a serial monogomist.

CB| 10.13.09 @ 7:28AM

I seem to remember someone saying recently that his grandmother was a "typical white person". Wow, think of the politcal hay the media COULD have had with that one. Oh, that was spoken by Mr. Obama, so it was ok. Rush can't take a breath without the media going after him...but it is like he says...the media and the libs will tell you who they are most afraid of.

CB| 10.13.09 @ 7:42AM

Hey In...when did Rush say "slavery had its good points"? Please cite the source so we can judge these remarks. He is against Obama because of his agenda, try listening to him sometime.
I'm sorry everyone, I shouldn't feed the trolls...
Ignorance is upsetting.

Stephanie| 10.13.09 @ 8:09AM

Ignorance IS upsetting CB and so are lies.

JDC | 10.13.09 @ 7:46AM

The "Puff the Magic Negro" song is a parody of a column in the LA Times, titled "Barack the Magic Negro". This column, by the way, was written by an African-American.

Indiana Alex| 10.13.09 @ 7:56AM

Who was it that said people were excited because we finally have a "clean articulate black man" running for president?

Oh yeah, it was Joe Biden.

Timothy L. Pennell| 10.13.09 @ 8:24AM

You forgot: Poopy Head. Didn't Tawana Brawleys' Daddy - Al "Kill the JEW" Sharpton, call Rush a Poopy Head, too? Al's so upset because of that 'Magic Negro' thing. Ya see, when you're the STUPID NEGRO, the FAT one who doesn't pay his TAXES, and stirs up POGROMS on his weekends, folks don't tend to call you 'Magic'.
What IS magic, is that every Election Cycle, the DEMOCRATS go to this 'FILTH' on bended knee, to seek his endorsement. The BIGGEST RACIST there is, calling everybody ELSE: Racist.
And I love the Eric Holder quote, about "Not talking enough about race". Okay Eric, let's talk. How many CONVICTED BLACK PANTHERS did you set free today? Hmmmm? How many INDICTMENTS against ACORN have you drawn up? Tell us why your Boy from the HOOD, ole KEVIN JOHNSON, ain't in a FEDERAL PENETENTARY for STEALING FEDERAL STIMULUS MONEY? Let's 'TALK' about CHARLIE RANGEL still walking around free. And let's discuss how much money YOU walked away with from FANNIE and FREDDIE, after your BOY, Franklin Raines, another CLEAN ARTICULATE BLACK MAN, cooked the books, and ran it in to the ground.
Let's review: Benjamin Ward - NYC First Black Police Commissioner - DISASTER.
David Dinkins - NYC First Black Mayor - MORE than a DISASTER.
The Magic Negro with all the SEALED RECORDS - First Black President - The ULTIMATE DISASTER.
Any questions?

Big J| 10.13.09 @ 8:44AM

Was it Jesse Jackson that wanted to "cut Barack Obama's nuts off", a method often employed by slave owners when the "boys" got out of line?

ln is the racist here, and really needs to get a clue.

Jus' sayin'.

NewzRoom101| 10.13.09 @ 9:27AM

NBC news has Keith Olbermann doing football games and no one says a thing. He is far more hateful than rush. Regarding songs on Rush's program, that's why they call them "parodies." The left loses their sense of humor when it's one of "their guys" serving as the butt of the joke.

NewzRoom101| 10.13.09 @ 9:33AM

Here's an interesting observation from POLITICO:

"NFL owners, team officials, players and coaches have overwhelmingly favored Republicans with their political contributions, according to a study released Thursday by the Center for Responsive Politics.

The report, which reviewed contributions dating back to 1989, found that combined contributions from players, owners and officials on 22 of the 32 National Football League teams have given more cash to Republicans than Democrats, and that several teams have given more than 90 percent of their contributions to the GOP."

Mike Giles| 10.13.09 @ 9:44AM

""NFL owners, team officials, players and coaches have overwhelmingly favored Republicans with their political contributions, according to a study released Thursday by the Center for Responsive Politics. "

And so? Many owners are successful businessmen who made their fortunes before they could afford to buy an NFL team.

And Rush's comment about the press rooting for McNabb is wrong because? McNabb was perceived as an "underdog", the press always roots for the "underdog". In any case, McNabb was out for long stretches, while no name quarterbacks replaced him. The Eagles still continued to win, due to their defense. Which is what Rush said.

Flee| 10.13.09 @ 3:13PM

Mike, I don't know how you can call McNabb an underdog when he was drafted in the first round (2nd overall in fact). I suspect most of the black NFL players don't contribute to political campaigns which could lead the statistics to reflect a more conservative bent. Philly fans wanted McNabb to succeed as much as anyone and yet they booed him mercilessly when he struggled. Does that make all Eagle fans racist too?

Margie| 10.13.09 @ 3:12PM

Note to Politico~ Ha! It's a free country. That's something the Left cannot stand!

Nor can they stand the fact that the best conservative guy in the country on radio has the highest ratings of any t.v. or radio show anywhere!

alyeska| 10.15.09 @ 2:11AM

yup, free enough to keep rush limbaugh away from decent people. you have him all to yourselves, dittoheads :)

Timothy L. Pennell| 10.13.09 @ 9:27AM

Just a little 'clarification...Steven Pagones was the DISTRICT ATTORNEY in the town where FAT ALBERT made his 'debut' with Bawana Brawley.

Jeffrey Lord| 10.13.09 @ 9:30AM

Bravo! Well said, Mr. Guardiano.

Bob Miller| 10.13.09 @ 9:33AM

Sharpton, Jackson, and the like are tools of the oppressor class---the Democratic elite. If these types were not useful to the Democrats, we would have forgotten them and their evil ways by now.

Louis Jenkins| 10.13.09 @ 9:34AM

As said on Limbaugh's show yesterday. Regardless of who owns the S.L Rams, the black football players will play. If you are a high performance player there's too much money and fame available to pass it up. But that applies to almost everyone regardless of race doesn't it? If football was my profession I'd do my best to play.

Steve Smith| 10.13.09 @ 9:57AM

If the NFL refuses Rush Limbaugh's bid to buy the Rams based on this politically correct smear, I can't speak for others but I will be done with the NFL. It's possible there may be 20 million others with similar feelings.

Don L| 10.13.09 @ 9:58AM

Of course when the Whitehouse is directly involved in instigating censorship and the president is openly telling folks who not to listen to Beck and Rush, and their spokemouths agitating for the silencing of critics, we have every right to return the accusations -only there is far more probablility that they seek to silence free speech and therefore are totalitarian and should be referred to as such, but with the right being wipified and the GOP unable to hear with their heads in the sand, not much will happen. Stop playing catch with the left's hand grenades folks, they are out to destroy the nation as it was formed by our forefathers and turn it into the last great Marxist failure.

S.L. Toddard| 10.13.09 @ 10:28AM

Colin Powell, the House Slave.

tonypal| 10.13.09 @ 12:22PM

Since you've linked to the song, do you know the entire history of this? Just wondering.

victor| 10.13.09 @ 3:33PM

was written by David Ehrenstein, a bi-racial homo sexual, in 2007 to illustrate how clean and articulate Barack Obama was and how he would appeal to guilty white liberals and possibly regular Americans.
You really should learn to finish your sentences Slo Todd.

Pete| 10.13.09 @ 10:53AM

All of this blatant liberal BS aside, I wonder why there haven't been any calls to confiscate any of the NFL player's "windfall profits?" It could even be a sin tax, given that watching football is sedentary and certainly contributes to obesity and therefore rising health care costs. I mean, if you were going to steal from the big bad oil companies, why not go after professional sports players, who don't even provide anything nearly as useful as power/gas, etc...? Actors too...I wonder why...why...WHY?

Cris Worth| 10.13.09 @ 11:06AM

Rush has pulled a fast one on liberals. He doesn't really want to own the Rams his team is the Steelers. He did this as a publicity stunt to draw fire from liberals in order to ingratiate himself with his declining listening audience. His disastrous knee jerk support of W. Bush and the support of Willard Romney in the 08 campaign cast him adrift from mainstream conservatism.

Ray| 10.13.09 @ 11:37AM

Declining audience? Where did you get that? Arbitron’s “Portable People Meter” ratings for August show that Limbaugh experienced record ratings in a number of major American radio markets."

That's for August 2009. Care to show me his "declining" audience?

Ken (Old Texican)| 10.13.09 @ 11:19AM

Rush...........is one of our "canaries in the coal mine".
If the left can silence Rush, please.....run for daylight!
The mine is full of deadly gas.

Tim| 10.13.09 @ 11:38AM

"The Justice Brothers" strike back.

FatBobofNLVNV| 10.13.09 @ 11:23AM

I think it is hight itme to bring the EEOC into the arena of professional sports. With their helpful oversight we can have a definitly equal game with a quota system for the owners and players. Then we could achieve O's dream of success for all.

Joey| 10.13.09 @ 11:26AM

Declining listening audience, Cris? Don't you wish. If you cut Limbaugh in two, then he would be the top two radio talk shows. Puh-leeze...if Rachel Maddow keeps broadcasting for another 50 years she might finally cumulatively achieve the same size audience Rush gets each day.

Pete| 10.13.09 @ 11:30AM

With no stats or studies in front of me, I think it is more than safe to say that whites are minorities as players in the NFL and NBA (probably MLB as well). Where are the calls for equality? This cannot stand! Surely, Jesse and Al will get involved in this worthy cause. Unless...no...it couldn't be...merit is only a valid concept when it benefits your way of thinking? Actually, now that I type that, I don't believe they even consider merit when they pull their grievance stunts all over the country.

Tim| 10.13.09 @ 11:37AM

I see that Rush has taken time away from enriching uranium and developing long range missiles to do something that really outrages the Left.
Leftist heroes can drug and rape little girls in celebrity hot tubs and they get an unashamed defense in national media. Limbaugh is a right wing celebrity and so he must be destroyed.

Rush, too bad you didn't partner with Don Imus on this one.

Ken (Old Texican)| 10.13.09 @ 11:55AM

Tim, Rush would never say or even think "nappy headed ____s"

It truly isn't in him. A black lady liberal called him the other day and he was just as respectful to her as any other caller. Houston was one of his very first markets way back. I have listened when I could since.
In fact, I think he despises racists...of what ever color.

Tim| 10.13.09 @ 12:10PM

Of course you are right, and I regret that you took me to mean I was equating the two. I mean that the Imus spectacle was instructive in that it revealed how thoroughly the mandarins of the left sought to destroy him personally and professionally.
It would be funny to see Imus come back and tweak them, as I suggested. That will not happen however because while Rush is a fighter, when confronted by Sharpton, Imus fell on his face and veritably licked his boots to seek forgiveness.,

Paul from SA| 10.13.09 @ 12:08PM

I've been listening to Rush since I accidently discovered his radio show on a business trip Feb. 1994 in Olathe, Kansas while eating a Quarterpounder with cheese in a rental car in a MacDonald's parking lot. It was so cold (-12F) I decided to eat in the car. I started pressing station presets looking for some hard rock & roll when I accidently pressed the AM button.
---------------------------------
Nobody listens to AM radio! AM is for losers. Radio exists only to listen to loud music.

I had heard about Rush Limbaugh from the mainstream media. They said he's some guy with a AM radio talk show. He is evil. Do not listen to him. He preaches hatred. He uses religion to preach hatred. They said he was racist, that he hates black people. They said he hates women, hates animals, hates the environment. They said he is very rude and insults his listeners. Blah, blah, blah....

I remember thinking how much I hate those 'shock jocks' and vowed to never listen to him. Plus I thought his name was fake. Head Rush? Limburger?
--------------------------------
On the radio, I heard a man talking about Bill Clinton and the liberal media. I lived in Little Rock for 2 years while Bill Clinton was the governor; I knew all about him. I continued to listen…. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. For the first time in my lifetime, I heard my point-of-view being expressed openly in public, uncontested without interruption. It was a conservative point-of-view. My point-of-view. The one that is never heard like that in public on tv or in the papers. I wondered if this is that Rush Limbaugh guy they’ve been trashing. It was my Rush Moment. I continued to listen and have been listening since.
-------------------------------
I have never heard him say anything racist. Nobody has. People like ‘ln’ have never listed to him, only what other liberals have said. If ln would listen, he know those are parodies of liberals and exposing them as hypocrites. ln would also discover he’s been deceived by the liberals.

I would estimate that 99% of what I hear said about Rush by the liberal media is false. This latest onslaught will fail – Rush has the truth on his side and the truth always wins, eventually.

I predict he will not be involved in owning an NFL team.

Bram| 10.13.09 @ 1:10PM

I discover Rush accidently channel surfing back when he had a half hour TV show. I had the same reaction - I'm not the only one who thinks this way!

Cris Worth| 10.13.09 @ 2:16PM

To improve his ratings specifically me tuning him in, I would like to see Rush start scrutinizing Republicans and commenting harshly for instance on Bob Dole's support of Obamacare, 08 campaigners Willard Romney's about face on social issues and Fred Thompson's no votes to Clinton's two articles of impeachment, Olympia Snowe's affirmative committee vote, W. Bush's support of amnesty for illegals and massive deficit spending, the Governator's disastrous social policies, Republican support of bailouts/cap & trade, S.C. buffoons Sanford/Graham, the list of wayward GOP'ers approaches infinity, start criticizing them Rush.

Cris Worth| 10.13.09 @ 2:33PM

Correction: Fred Thompson voted no on one of two articles of impeachment.

victor| 10.13.09 @ 6:30PM

Les Worth,
Maybe you need to listen to Rush instead of listening to Keith Overbite read other people's reports on Rush.
When republicans need to be criticized, Rush will criticize them.

Margie| 10.13.09 @ 2:45PM

Hubba! Hubba! Rush was great in the interview!
Go gettem' el Rushbo~~ don't let the Race baiters get ya down.

Marc Jeric| 10.13.09 @ 2:59PM

Why don't we enforce affirmative action into the football game? And basketball? Aren't the whites "underrepresented" there?

Obama the 'Magic Negro'

http://www.latimes.com/news/op.....1015.story

Ronald Reagan. Ollie North. Newt Gingrich. GW Bush. Dick Cheney. Halliburton. Big Oil. Big Pharma.

The Left discovered that the program of "Jew du jour" works as well for them as it worked for that earlier arch-statist regime. Composing a rational argument for or against something, marshalling the facts, deriving reasoned conclusions, is not nearly as effective with people with an at best sixty second attention span as offering a "blame it all on X".

T. E. Lawrence is in a cold cave with his last Arab lieutenants. The lieutenants are trying to reason with Lawrence, convince him to not give up, and Lawrence responds by spitting on the cave floor. "That", says one of the Arab lieutenants, pointing to the spittle, "is not an argument".

That is not a "health care plan".

That is not "energy policy".

That is not a "strategy for victory in Afghanistan".

That is not a way to stop massively importing poverty from Latin America.

That is not a way to stop the Social Security and Medicare train wrecks.

That is not the role of government as permitted by the Constitution.

james| 10.13.09 @ 6:29PM

Why are liberals always the stupidest people in the room? Either "In" doesn't know that "The Magic Negro" was a column written by a liberal at the Los Angeles Times that Rush was making fun of; or he knows it and lies about it. This is a Sophie's Choice of moral turpitude. Take your pick, In. Are you stupid or just a liar?

liberals listen to jon stewart and steven colbert -- neanderthals howl at rush limbaugh's sophomoric jokes! who's stupid?

Aleista| 10.15.09 @ 12:09PM

Why, you are, dear. Rudely calling people names, and ignorantly passing judgment on things you know nothing about, is, in fact....."stupid".

alyeska| 10.16.09 @ 3:05AM

none of that alters the fact that liberals are witty and rush/hannity/beck are just silly.

victor| 10.13.09 @ 6:33PM

Yes, In.
Are you In, or are you Out(of your mind)?

Bob| 10.13.09 @ 7:04PM

"In" is an idiot troll, plain and simple.

And all the souls in Harlem are lost because the Very Right Reverend Al and the Most Pious Reverend Jesse are trying to save the NFL instead. No jobs for New Yorkers or Chicagoans but sharpton and Jackson crusade for multi-millionaire disgruntled black football players, and very few of them at that. Sharpton and Jackson are arguably two of the most disgusting race-baiters ever to wALK THE EARTH AND HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS, IF NOT MILLIONS, OF BLACK MEN OWE THEIR FALL not to rush limbaugh but to JESSE and AL.

Margie| 10.14.09 @ 1:00AM

Hey, haven't you heard? It was "in the news" today.. Jesse Jackson rode a bus in Chicago today. I guess he thought his presence alone would take care of the violence there. The insane arrogance would be funny if it weren't so sickening.

As long as there are people like Sharpton and Jackson, there will be racsim. It doesn't profit them to heal race relations in this country. The old saying, "Money talks and bull.... walks" doesn't work in this case, because all their bull.... is pulling in tons of money for them. Democritus said it best "It is greed to do all the talking but not to want to listen at all."

Here we go again. All of these blind conservatives dissing blind liberals. You cannot trust either of them. It's time we brought this country back to the center and away from the leftists and right wingers.
Support people like Olympia Snowe who, despite her Republican tag, is clearly a moderate and is singlehandedly fighting the Dems and Reps at once. Its time to bring down the two ideological extremes that paralyze our nation.

Wow, this was a really quality post. In theory I'd like to write like this too - taking time and real effort to make a good article... but what can I say... I procrastinate a lot and never seem to get something done.
