Above is the image tweeted Wednesday by the Administration to mock a poster Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used in his address to the UN on September 27, 2012 (which you can see here).
Why does President Obama think that the prospect of an Iranian nuclear bomb is funny? Does he remember what happened after he called ISIS a J.V. team? After he drew a red line in the Syrian sand? After he declared Yemen a success story? I could go on, but what’s the point? Everyone except Obama is cognizant of his duplicity and his many foreign policy failures.
Why are we to believe that there is a deal or that it does what Obama says it does? Even the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei hasn’t signed on to Obama’s version of the “deal,” describing Obama as someone who is “stubborn, difficult to deal with, breaks promises and is a backstabber.” Well, he’s got that right.
What are we to make of the Pantheon of insane criminals our president is putting together?
He’s in the process of rehabilitating the Castro brothers. But Raul refuses to make nice with Obama until he takes Cuba off the list of state sponsors of terrorism. Only how do you do that when, as Mary Anastasia O’Grady reports, “the regime supports the FARC and gives members of its rebel army safe haven.” FARC is a Colombian communist guerrilla group that raises funds through its drug trade as well as its “kidnappings, extortion schemes, and an unofficial ‘tax’ it levies in the countryside for ‘protection’ and social services.”
So Obama has sent a peace envoy, Bernard Aronson, to Colombia to help the government in its peace process with FARC, with the goal of normalizing FARC by defining it as something other than a terrorist organization. “The U.S. will be eager to put its stamp on a peace deal, no matter how much political or economic power it [the government] cedes to the FARC. But once it’s done, Colombians will be on their own,” Ms. O’Grady predicts. Think of this as the Latin American version of the Middle East Peace Process. Perhaps after this mission Mr. Aronson might be sent to Nigeria to help the newly elected president negotiate a peace deal with Boko Haram.
Obama wishes to sanitize the Castros and FARC in the same way he sanitized the Muslim Brotherhood and tried to install it as the government in Egypt. Fortunately, the Egyptian people rose up in protest and deposed Morsi. The Venezuelan people are still suffering under Hugo Chavez’s successor dictator.
Obama could not bring himself to say anything that might be construed as a criticism of Hugo Chavez when the latter died recently. Jennifer Rubin characterized Chavez as “one of the most noxious figures in the hemisphere who was infamous for his support for Iran and other rogue regimes and domestic repression,” and observed that “if you didn’t know better (and perhaps you do), you’d think Obama was indifferent on the domestic and international misdeeds of the tyrant.”
And while Obama appeared to have a care about human rights violations in Venezuela when he declared it to be a security threat and imposed sanctions on seven Venezuelan civil servants on March 9, his obnoxious deputy national security advisor, the former fiction writer Ben Rhodes, has issued the following clarification: “The U.S. doesn’t believe Venezuela poses some threat to our national security. We just have a framework for how we word executive orders.” Hey, nothing personal, Nicolás. Just a one-off thing. This undoubtedly in response to Raul Castro’s ultimatum regarding his fellow dictator: “The U.S. must understand once and for all that it’s impossible to seduce Cuba or intimidate Venezuela.” Raul won’t play with Barack so long as Barack is mean to Nicolas. Raul is loyal to his friends, which is more than one can say for Obama.
I wouldn’t say Obama is “indifferent” towards tyrants; he’s actively in favor of them. That’s why he removed Iran and its proxy Hezbollah from our list of terrorism threats, and turned the pair into our allies in the war against ISIS. That would be the same Hezbollah that was responsible for the 1983 bombing of the Marine barracks in Beirut which killed 241 Americans. And the Americans who died were apparently the lucky ones. An autopsy report performed on the body of Colonel William R. Higgins, who was captured and tortured for months by Hezbollah, “found that he had been starved and had suffered multiple lethal injuries that could have caused his death. The skin on his face had been partially removed along with his tongue and he had also been castrated.”
These are some of the monsters that Obama is gathering around him in his Pantheon of evil and to whom he proposes to give nuclear weapons. Obama thinks that our alarm at this prospect is so funny that it is worthy of a ghoulish cartoon posted on the White House website.
To paraphrase Jennifer Rubin, if you didn’t know better (and perhaps you do), you’d think Obama was indifferent, or even looking forward, to the coming of the 12th Imam and the end times.
