Two Police Officers Shot at Alton Sterling/Philando Castile Shooting Protest in Dallas UPDATE: 12 Officers Shot, Five Dead

by

There have been protests all over the country in the wake in the fatal shootings of two African-American males by police officers in the space of 24 hours. The men killed were Alton Sterling in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Philando Castile in a Twin Cities suburb in Minnesota.

One of these peaceful protests was in Dallas. The calm was disrupted by gunfire resulting in two police officers being shot. Their condition is unknown as of this writing. It is also unknown if the gunman is still at large. KDFW, the FOX affiliate in Dallas said authorities were focused on a parking garage near the protest.

Whatever the circumstances that led to the deaths of Sterling and Castile and now these police officers in Dallas (especially if they do not survive their injuries) all I can say for now is that things are going to get worse before they get better.

UPDATE: It’s going to get much worse. At least two snipers shot 12 police officers, killing five of them. Four of the officers killed were with the Dallas Police Department while the other was with Dallas Area Rapid Transit. Two civilians were also wounded.

At this point, it is unclear whether the snipers were involved with Black Lives Matter or if they were radical Islamic terrorists seeking to take advantage of the chaos. Whoever is responsible they were able to plan this attack very quickly and maximized the carnage.
