Special Pleading From the Opposition Party

So they’re not an opposition party? The requests below, displayed prominently on their home pages yesterday and well into this morning, came from the Washington Post and New York Times respectively:

Are you, or is someone you know, affected by President Trump’s executive order banning refugees and migrants from the U.S.? Share your story with us.

Are you affected by President Trump’s executive order on immigration — or know someone who is? If you have information, please contact us: immigration@nytimes.com.

I can’t recall anything like this. Maybe it’s simply the papers no longer have the funds to support extensive reporting. So maybe in best PBS style they were asking readers to donate. Whatever the case, the responses must have not been what the pleaders for news were hoping for. Last I checked, the pleadings had been pulled. Will we see any follow-ups on how quickly the sob-story well ran dry?
