Meghan McCain’s first paragraph in her latest Daily Beast article ends with this:
As I see it, it’s just another facet of our Puritanical hypocrisy—as if one eye is a school marm obsessed with modesty, and the other is winking, begging for more more more.
The craziest part of this horrible sentence is that it is the eye eye, which is already winking, that is doing the begging, not the anthropomorphized eye. I.e., it seems like a school marm is more likely to be begging than a winking eye would be.
