Sens. Rand Paul and Mike Lee apparently aren’t too worried by Tim Pawlenty’s criticism that some Republicans seem like they’re trying to “out-bid the Democrats in appealing to isolationist sentiments.”
“From time to time, I find myself agreeing one way or another with the president,” was Lee’s response, according to Jon Ward of the Huffington Post.
Ward quotes Paul as saying: “It’s not a valid term. It’s a pejorative term. It’s name calling…. Isolationism would mean that you’re nowhere any of the time and you’re completely within a walled-in state. I don’t know anybody who’s for that.”
