Katie Couric Apparently Doesn’t Remember San Bernardino

by

When Katie Couric says, “I regret that those eight seconds were misleading,” what she really means that is that she is sorry she got caught trying to make gun rights activists look stupid with their silence. Her apology should be seen for the self-serving statement that it is.

In fact, the members of the Virginia Citizens Defense League come off as quite reasonable in the audio response to Couric’s question, “If there are no background checks for gun purchasers, how do you prevent felons or terrorists from purchasing a gun?”

What makes the Virginia Citizens Defense League all the more reasonable is their restraint in not telling Couric the stupidity of her question. If background checks are all that it takes to prevent terrorists from purchasing guns then how come there are 14 people dead and gone in San Bernardino? Enrique Marquez, Jr. didn’t pull the triggers on the guns used to kill those 14 people, but he bought the weapons background check in all. Marquez is every bit as much an Islamic terrorist as Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik and federal prosecutors subsequently charged Marquez with planning pipe bomb attacks with Farook in 2011 and 2012 on Route 91 & Riverside Community College, respectively.

If Katie Couric didn’t spend so much time trying to deliberately besmirch gun rights advocates in the pursuit of her own gun control activism then perhaps she wouldn’t have asked such a stupid question in the first place.
