America’s Worst Senator Could Be America’s Worst Governor

by

Six years ago this week, U.S. Senator from Minnesota Mark Dayton, closed down his Washington, D.C. office for fear that he and his staff were in danger. None of his peers followed suit, and the bizzare behavior earned him Time magazine’s label as one of the country’s worst senators. (The Republican Party of Minnesota revisits the headline-making gaffe below.) Dayton, who is running to take Tim Pawlenty’s spot as governor, is ahead in the latest Rasmussen poll. If Minnesotans choose him, he’ll join the ranks of other infamous left-leaning politicians: Vice President Walter Mondale, Governor Jesse Ventura, and of course, Senator Al Franken.
