In breaking news, reports indicate that President Donald Trump may launch a U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. According to Axios, “Trump is seriously considering joining the war and launching a U.S. strike against Iran’s nuclear facilities, especially its underground uranium enrichment facility in Fordow.” Axios based that report on comments from White House officials.
CNN has joined Axios in reporting that Trump is “warming up” to the idea of U.S. involvement to secure his objectives. The article states that Trump’s hardline position against Iranian nuclear development may “provide justification for any potential action.”
Israel is incapable of destroying Iran’s Fordow facility, which is built underneath a mountain, without outside help. This means that Israel is hoping for the assistance of American forces in order to dismantle Iran’s nuclear facilities. (RELATED: Basic Thoughts on Iran)
Vice President JD Vance signaled his support for any potential strikes and portrayed any possible attacks as furthering the administration’s goal of a non-nuclear Iran. He stated, “He [President Trump] may decide he needs to take further action to end Iranian enrichment.”
Further indicating a strike, United States Air Force aerial refueling aircraft have been spotted flying toward the Middle East.
Trump raised eyebrows with a Tuesday morning Truth Social post, saying, “We now have complete and total control of the skies over Iran.” He shortly followed this statement, writing, “UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER!”
Following Monday’s reports that the president restrained Israeli forces from killing Iranian Ayatollah Khamenei, Trump stated, “We know exactly where the so-called ‘Supreme Leader’ is hiding. He is an easy target, but is safe there — We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.” He added, “Our patience is wearing thin.”
Additionally, reports suggest that Israel has now launched a cyberattack on Iran. Axios reported that a pro-Israel hacking group, known as Predatory Sparrow, has conducted attacks on banks across Iran, completely wiping the data of the Iranian Sepah bank.
According to the Israeli publication Ynet News, this bank has historically been the primary financial arm of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. The attack has crippled ATM services within the country, as well as access to gas stations.
