At the CPAC pro-life panel, Lifeandmarriage.org’s Erin DeLullo just called for the anti-abortion coalition to go all Club for Growth on Republicans who cross them and fund primary challenges. The audience cheered but the room is maybe half full. Contrast that with the standing room only crowd I just squeezed my way out of at the defense cuts panel.
This year, social conservatives are complaining that their issues have been deemphasized at CPAC. They have half a point, but only half of one. To wit, there is a pro-life panel and one reason it is so sparsely attended is that a bunch of Mormons are waiting to meet with Mitt Romney next door.
