Rudy on a roll calling for victory. Gets nice applause. McCain says troops should stay “because we are succeeding” and touts that he alone said Rumsfeld’s strategy should go. Both of them gave their best answers on this. Huckabee has gotten some statistics down and notes decline in violence. Romney asked how long should troops be there and he doesn’t really answer but skips to talking about “protecting lives” and says it shouldn’t become another Talliban like regime. Thompson says this is part of a global conflict. All of the answers were good– Rudy and McCain seemed the feistiest.
