Let’s hope President Obama doesn’t break his own arm patting himself on the back for returning five percent of his salary, roughly the percentage of sequester cuts, to the federal Treasury. This laugher of a gimmick will cost Obama $20,000 of his $400,000 presidential salary this year.
The cost of operating Air Force One is $180,000 per hour. Let’s hope Americans remember Obama’s cynical sacrifice next time he jets off to a fundraiser in his preposterously expensive and tax-provided limo. The paltry savings from Obama’s pay cut will have been eaten up about the time Air Force One begins its next take-off roll at Andrews AFB.
