Hat tip to K-Lo at NRO, who notes that Rush is sayin’ what I’ve been sayin’ about Huck, McCain, Romney, and Thompson Inshort, neither McCain nor Huckabee is a conservative in many or even most senses of the word. Romney (if you accept his conversions and judge by most of his actions as governor rather than his rhetoric while running for governor) and Thompson (without any significant question or doubt) are, on the other hand, real conservatives. (Giuliani is another, much more complicated matter, although for many reasons I may need to outline in column I do believe that OPERATIONALLY he makes the cut even on those issues [life!] where his stated positions are not in accord with sociocons.)
