Americans Like Maggie More Than Obama

by

Today’s Rasmussen Report Daily Update informs us that 68 percent of American adults have at least a somewhat favorable opinion of Margaret Thatcher, including 36 percent with a very favorable opinion. Only 15 percent told Rasmussen they have a somewhat or very unfavorable view of the Iron Lady.

I’ve not seen comparable polls out of the UK, but we can be sure our Maggie doesn’t do as well in Old Blighty. In fact, lots of Brits have had some very scratchy things to say this week about the PM who saved them from replacing Albania as the poorest country in Europe. Apparently speaking ill of the recently dead is not as frowned on in the UK as it is here.

The same Update tells us that only 48 percent of American likely voters approve of the job Barack Obama is doing as president.

Gee, what a shame Maggie wasn’t born in Hawaii and Obama in Grantham.
