Sophomore U.S. Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas, graduated first in
his class at West Point, graduated from Harvard Law School, had a
hugely successful career in the aerospace industry, and also has a
think-tank background. He may be a seriously rising star. Anyway,
he put out a self-explanatory press release that is a beauty to
behold. Take that, Mr. Obama!
Today, White House Spokesman Jay Carney asked during a press
briefing what Congressman Mike Pompeo, R-Kansas, would say to
defense workers facing furlough because of the President’s
sequester plan. The following is his statement:
“Mr. Carney doesn’t understand that not every public official is
willing to play games with lives of hard-working Americans for
political gain like his boss, President Obama. I said
that the sequester is a home run not because it is good
politics, but because it begins to put America back on the right
fiscal track.
“I would welcome the opportunity to tell the 90,000 furloughed
workers, the ones President Obama is choosing to let go of, that
they need to know several things:
“First, the sequester does not have to mean furloughs. The
President is choosing to make this minor reduction in spending
painful—by furloughing people—in order to pursue his twin goals of
raising taxes and increasing the size of the federal
government. The President wasted $1 trillion dollars of
stimulus money that did nothing to grow our economy and create
jobs. Now, he is needlessly using a decrease in federal
spending amounting to less than a few percent to harm even more
American workers and their families.
“Second, there are fewer Americans working in America today than
when the President took office. I find it bizarre that Mr.
Carney would ask me about talking to furloughed workers. I’ve
been talking to and representing thousands of furloughed and
laid-off workers in Kansas who have lost their livelihood because
of this President’s failed economic policies and his consistent
attacks on the general aviation industry. Before President
Obama’s reckless deficits, general aviation was a robust
manufacturing jewel providing high-paying jobs in the Air Capital
of the World. Today, he continues to cause it pain.
“Third, Mr. Carney says that this isn’t a home run for average
Americans. He is wrong. While there will surely be
dislocations, the President’s $6 trillion in new federal debt have
been a strikeout for our country. Most Americans understand
the need to stop year-on-year trillion dollar deficits. For
them, we should have done even more to reduce the size of our
federal government. The sequester is a solid first
step. Growing American prosperity will require us to hit a
grand slam on reducing spending, taxation, and regulation. I
look forward to being part of making that happen.
“Finally, the President proposed, signed, and threatened to veto
changes to, the sequester. It was his plan. Not once,
but twice, Congressional Republicans have provided
alternatives. We have seen nothing from Carney’s boss.
If it is really that bad, why has he not sent a different set of
cuts? The President’s actions—claiming to be upset about the
sequester and traveling to Virginia to confuse workers there—are at
best disingenuous and at worst just plain mean.”

That response is the (high) quality work I would expect from someone who has actual, real world experience and accomplishment, as opposed to being a lifelong politician.

Bravo to Cong. Pompeo. obama still campaigns by speaking to those who suck on the gov. teat and refuses to do his job. Of course, obama is incapable of doing his job. Without the teleprompter he's able to do no more than uh, uh, uh.
Who shows up for obama's speeches? Those not working.

He is absolutely correct in telling the truth about this group of domestic terrorists now in charge of this country. Another case in point is their release of illegals from federal prisons across the country, which is a direct danger to innocent people of these areas. This is typical of [again] the domestic terrorists that the stupids of his country gabe political power to in 2008 and 2012, and sadly they have now one to blame but themselves for these present situations that are now taking place. This is Cloward & Pivan, Chicago Goon Politics 101. Maybe people in this country will wake up and begin to grow some bain cells between their two earlobes before future elections, but I doubt it seriously [and will only believe it when I see proof positive results of same]. We can all only hope for some legislators to discover legal reasons for impeachment by the grace of the Almighty!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll bet that Rep. Mike Pompeo does not ride a girls bike, throw like a girl, hang drapes, & probably knows how to properly shoot skeet or anything else for that matter. Wish we have men like that representing New Jersey.

I can only assume that Pompeo will now be railroaded out by the useful idiots in charge of the GOP.

Mr. Pompeo forgot to ad that not only was the first 800 billion stimulus wasted and innefective, but it was also rolled in to the new baseline budget, sorry, continueing resolution spending bill and has still not done anything but saddle use with trillions of dollars in new debt.
And yes. Obama is deliberately going to make sure all Americans are hurt. And woe to Mr. Pampeos constituents in Wichita. I think I hear Obama's thugs bringing in a bag of cancelled military orders.

Once again Obama demonstrates his total lack of experience as an administrator of nothing. A good CEO will find other ways to live within the constraints of a budget...laying people off is the absolute last resort. His actions are childish and he will cut off his nose to spite his face! Reminds me of the frog and scorpion. Scorpion came upon a wide stream he could not cross. So he saw a frog and asked if it would be possible to ride across on the frog's back. Frog said he was afraid the scorpion would sting him, to which scorpion replied if that were to happen surely they would both die. So the frog invited him on and away they went. Sure enough, about half way across, the scorpion stung the frog. "Why did you do that?' questioned the frog. "Because I can't help myself" said the scorpion. "It's what I do. I am a scorpion after all".
