Via the Politico, I see that:
In an interview with WHO radio in Des Moines, Iowa, Huckabee would not discount the possibility of another presidential run — but added he would need evidence of a clear path to victory before jumping into the GOP race.“I’m not ruling it out. And that’s not a yes, but it’s definitely not a no,” Huckabee told WHO’s Steve Deace.
“The honest answer is: I’m keeping it open as an option; I’m looking at whether or not there’s a pathway to victory,” he added. “As I’ve told several people, I’m not jumping into a pool when there’s no water in it.”
When Huckabee sought the presidency in 2008, he had everything to gain and little to lose. He was an unemployed former governor without much name recognition who entered the race with low expectations. By the end of the campaign, he had emerged as a political force, a national celebrity with a cult following, and he landed a TV show and wrote several books. Now, looking ahead to 2012, things are a lot different. He’s earning good money for the first time in his life and people listen to what he has to say. Were he to run, he’d have to give up his Fox show, deal with the daily grind of the campaign, and once again open himself to more scrutinity and attacks. He’ll have to go through the process of explaining controversial past statements and defending his record, especially when it comes to pardoning violent criminals. And after all of that, it may be hard for him to improve upon his performance anyway. If he decided not to run, he could keep his television show and lucrative career, avoid being the subject of attacks, and still influence the race. His endorsement would no doubt be highly sought after, especially before the Iowa caucuses. So his statement seems pretty candid to me. There’s nothing to gain from running again unless he’s convinced he has a good chance of winning.

The truth is we the people need a strong personality that sticks to his/her guns and truly reforms the current entitlement mentality. In no way shape or form is it OK to take (steal) money from people that work and GIVE it to people that don't work, at any level. Charity often becomes entitlement.

As to the 2012 cycle, I'm really pulling for someone new to the national scene to step up. I don't want any of the above; they've already had their chance and been largely rejected by the voters.
On a related subject, how many of you have heard Mike Pence's speech at Hillsdale College on the limitations of the Presidency? I'd vote for him on that basis alone...

I understand that you want something for nothing but that's not the American way. You have to put forth the effort to make your way in this country. I always loose sight of there are no rich democrats. They (the Dems) give everything they earn back to the people. For example: Charlie Rangel. Now there is a truly helpful democrat. What a President he would make. You did not call Chris Cristie or Marco Rubio any names. You must have forgotten about them. I look forward to in seeing what your 43 point IQ can come up with for them. Oh and I am very interested in who your Democratic candidates are for President. The cream will rise to the top as long as we keep our conservative due diligence. I am not worried about who. I am excited about the overwhelming possibility of a Constitutional reemergence that brings smaller government and less intrusion into our lives and choices. If Mr. Joker is not to the left, why the name calling? Why not share his view of who the strongest candidate may be and why he feels that candidate is the one. Calling people names or using short sighted comments only mucks up the selection process. For a libitiarn such as myself, this will be a very intriguing primary.

Pence is making conservative noises now, but don't be fooled. Do your research on this guy's prior comments and actions. The ONE guy that I've seen, who remains consistent in his conservative principles, is Paul Ryan. He talks the talk and he walks the walk. "Huck" was the other RINO (heard Mitt Romney too) I heard interviewed on a radio show, ca. 2008, who said in essence - we NEED illegal aliens - they keep our economy going. With real unemployment over 17% maybe he changed his tune. But even if he has, he could change it back and support Amnesty and the DREAM act, thus encouraging another 12-15 million illegals.
As far as I'm concerned, he can go run for President of Mexico.
