The NAACP will not release the actual text of its resolution
condemning “racist elements” within the Tea Party movement until
October, when the organization’s board gives it final approval, a
spokesman for the group has told me.
Though the final version has not surfaced, I
reported on some excerpts from the preliminary draft of the
resolution yesterday, which I was able to record before a live
webcast broadcasting the NAACP conference was cut off. Among
other things, an early draft called Tea Party movement, a “threat
to the pursuit of human rights, justice and equality for all.”
In a blog post on the passage of the resolution on its own
website, the NAACP
writes:
The proposed resolution had generated controversy on
conservative blogs, where in some cases the language has been
misconstrued to imply that the NAACP was condemning the entire
Tea Party movement itself as racist.
But it seems to me that the ideal way to prevent the language
from being misconstrued would be to release the actual language.
martin j smith| 7.14.10 @ 3:58PM
These people are cowards and liars. If they had any confidence in their precious resolution they would put it out. They are using it for the November elections which means a part of an October surprise ? We need spies to find out what games this group and Obama will play.

Has anyone considered that for AG Holder to prosecute the TEA Parties, he needs a victim to avenge.
Is the NAACP is in the process of supplying that victim?
This October, just in time for the election, AG Holder will spring Federal lawsuits on the TEA Parties and personal. The lawsuits will cite the “objective and unbiased independence” of the NAACP as the authority supplying evidence of the TEA Parties racism. The TEA Party candidates will then be blindsided with charges condemning them with racism.
The idea is to duplicate the 2008 election when the voters were given the choice was between voting for Obama or be a Racist.
By charging the TEA Party candidates with the hate crimes of racism based on the NAACP charges, the Obama administration is giving the voters a choice between voting for Racism or voting for the Democratic candidates.
The NAACP actions are beyond sleazy. This is directly trying to manipulate the 2010 election by creating false and malicious charges. This is just like the Dan Rather charges against George W Bush only worse.
AG Holder does not expect the charges to stick. It is the seriousness of the charges inflicted just before the election is what the Democrats expect to turn the election around.
That is my speculation and theory. What is yours.
Missy| 7.14.10 @ 5:43PM
Whom would Holder prosecute and for what reason?
How can a whole group be prosecuted?
Last I checked, the 1st Amendment still protects Free Speech. Good luck with that, Holder.
Dixie Pixie| 7.14.10 @ 6:39PM
Greetings Missy
The whole idea is to selectively wipe out the TEA Party candidates with charges of Racism and hate crimes. After all, Obama became a US Senator by running all the other candidates out of the race with the tactics of the Chicago Way. Why not do it on a far more massive scale.
Does that clear up the concepts Missy?
Missy| 7.14.10 @ 6:58PM
Not really, it's not specific enough. The group is too diffuse to make the charges stick.
I understand your point, but I don't think Holder could make it work.
Nate| 7.14.10 @ 7:56PM
Dixie and Missy --
Would you relax? You sound like Glenn Beck for crying out loud. No one is going to prosecute tea baggers.
I would bet you a MILLION dollars (if I had it) that there is no one in DC more frustrated than Obama that the NAACP is making this proclamation. It is exactly the sort of politics Obama has avoided his entire career. For some reason people on the right seem to think that Obama is Jesse Jackson. He's not. Believe it. Jackson got -- what? -- 10% of the vote last time he ran: Obama defeated one of the most powerful people in DC for the nomination and won the presidency, and he didn't do it by gimmick politics.
Dixie Pixie| 7.14.10 @ 9:16PM
Nate --- Is that still you.
The last I heard of you, had gotten into flame war with Quin Hillyer and was being bludgeoned by facts, logic, history and reality. It was not pretty. I did not expect for you to survive. But You Lived to see another day.
Forget about the money.
If not, I would like it in large, sequentially numbered and UV marked bills.
Of course, Obama and Holder is involved with the NAACP.
All three have been joined at the political and rhetorical orifice for years.
Racism is the last and most despicable tactic of a failing Democratic politician.
The fact is the Obama Pollyanna Strategy is not working.
It is folly to try to convince to public today's economy is better than Bush 43's economy.
For example, 9.xx+% unemployment is not better than around 4% under Bush 43.
Nobody is buying the Pollyanna Strategy, so Obama pulled out the Racism Strategy.
It is that simple.

tonypal| 7.15.10 @ 9:27AM
Nate, a few points. First, they're called tea partiers, not teabaggers. People get to choose for themselves what they want to be called. For example, you refer to yourself as Nate, so when I address you, I address you as Nate. It would be childish of me to do otherwise, so grow up and stop the adolescent name calling.
Second, isn't it about time we put this whole Obama as post-racial healer to bed. Obama, like any other good leftist, thrives on promoting racial division. Specifically to your point about Obama being frustrated at the NAACP proclamation. If that were so, then why was his wife at the NAACP convention riling up the audience with made up tales of tea party racism? Seems to me if Obama were truly the racial healer you fantasize about, then he would have already come out with a statement opposing the proclamation. That's what real men of substance do when something like this happens. But Obama remains silent, thus giving his tacit approval.

Incidentally, are all democrats communists and anarchists? Just wondering, because during all those anti-war protests a few years back, the crowds were littered with people carrying classic symbols of communism and anarchism. Following your twisted logic, it would seem to me that anyone who attended one of those rallies could be classified as subversive and anti-American. Any thoughts on that?

Ms. Jones| 7.15.10 @ 3:47PM
IF you did see "NeoNazi Skinheads", as you claim, they were probably infiltrators spurred on by Jason Levin's crashtheteaparty.com, et al. Progressives are scared to death of the Americans rising up in protest of government encroachment on every single area of our lives, and will stop at nothing to discredit us. The left has long engaged in the practice of "if we repeat a lie often enough, it becomes truth". Witness all the allegations of racism in the Tea Party movement. Every single news camera in the world was pointed at Nancy Pelosi as she walked across the bridge carrying her big, bad gavel, accompanied by congressional blacks, in a disgusting parody of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s march for civil rights. Allegations arose that the "n" word was shouted by Tea Partiers, and a $100,000 reward was posted for EVIDENCE that such slurs actually took place. Despite miles of news footage capturing the events surrounding the allegations, THE REWARD HAS GONE UNCLAIMED. Gee, I wonder why? Where are photographs of the supposed posters advocating the lynching of Barrack Obama and Eric Holder that the NAACP alleges? FOX News has aired video footage of New Black Panther head King Simir Shabazz inciting blacks to kill "Crackers" and "Cracker babies", and blocking the doors to a polling place while dressed in paramilitary garb, brandishing a night stick. Where is the proof of your allegations, Erikj? There isn't any! When you have to lie to discredit those who disagree with you, then you really don't have a leg to stand on, do you? The inability of progressive socialist/Marxists to meet on the field of ideas is because SOCIALISM HAS FAILED EVERYWHERE IT HAS BEEN APPLIED! It failed in Nazi Germany, it failed in Maoist China (but not before millions of Chinese perished), it failed in Stalinist Russia (where 50 million Russians died), it is failing in Castro's Cuba, and it is failing today all over Europe as the economies of Greece and Spain falter, and yet you people seem to believe that Obama can succeed where everyone else has failed. What colossal arrogance!

Tim*| 7.15.10 @ 12:00AM
If The NAACP isn't racist then explain why , " As has been believably alleged, the NAACP attorney was lobbying or actively hinting to the new Obama appointees or their "friendlies" in the "career" ranks of DoJ that DoJ should drop the Black Panther case, it makes the NAACP's charges of racism against Tea Partiers even more tendentious. These New Black Panthers, after all, are some of the most virulently racist people around. Witness, again, this video of one of them advocating "killing crakkas" and "kill[ing] they [sic] babies."
Ayah| 7.15.10 @ 12:17AM

carnalzoo| 7.15.10 @ 1:02AM
The NAACP' has been around since 1909. They have lost their focus, the Advancement of Colored People, and have forgotten what real racism looks like. The NAACP has become irrelevant in the 21 century. The NAACP has made the same mistake the white community did; they labeled a group of people in a negative way because of a few bad people. The NAACP is no better than the white racists. They have become one.
martin j smith| 7.15.10 @ 7:39AM
Recently by pure chance ( not luck ) I fell into a "conversation" with a Left Democrat. What I discovered within 30 seconds or less is that this person was all bumper sticker and no substance. I beleive the trolls you read are the same.
Moving on: The NAACP resolution and its failure to put it out demonstrates the same idea. They all bumper sticker and nothing more.
To the issue of their resolution: Just as in Obama's behavior, the NAACP shows they are moral cowards by refusing to put up or shut up their resolution. This cowardice to me proves they have no evidence--just allegations--and anyone can do that. Second, this is political and nothing more. They got their orders from BHO and went right to it. Third, it demonstrates the Democrat Left fear of opposition and disagreement on substance.
I have no respect for the NAACP, absolutely no confidence in BHO and the rest of the Democrat Left leadershi- and as for the trolls. they are ROBOTS.
tonypal| 7.15.10 @ 9:34AM

Damn right! Bumper stickers must be outlawed!
martin j smith| 7.15.10 @ 10:17AM
Tonypal: As for the general voting population that is absolutely right what you say.
However the real issue is political propaganda--that is what it is all about. I believe what is needed are two things:
(at least )
One: The Tea Party Movement --as much as possible must renounce this resolution as race baiting and because Michelle Obama gave a speech the day before suggest that this was a purposeful political act via BHO himself. There are no coincidences.
Second: The Republican Party Must repudiate this resolution in strong terms because it is false,it is political propaganda and this is the same kind opf narrative that has been applied to them. Intertestingly Karl Rove wrote a piece admitting he erred in not speaking against the Democrat Party's criticism of Bush on the war.
Well, this election IS WAR/ and republicans better be in battle gear to change the narrative. That is the essence of this fight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Third: The blogosphere needs to be all over the contrast between BHO's failure in the Justice Department over Racism in the Black Panthers as well as the utter irresponsibility of this resolution among other things.
Maddox| 7.15.10 @ 11:28AM

I would suggest that anyone carrying overtly racist signage at a Tea Party event should be approached and engaged in conversation. Does s/he know what the 'TEA" in Tea party stands for? If not, this is an infiltrator and should be exposed as such. Like cockroaches, these cowards will scatter when the light of truth exposes them. If the person is a bona fide Tea Partier, gently remind him/her that we oppose Obama's Marxist policies and Chicago strong-arm tactics, not his race.
