Ed Morrissey, I see this illuminating interview in which
Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says that
under the Senate health care bill, everybody purchasing a health
care policy on the new government-run exchange would have to pay
into a fund to finance abortion coverage for others. The
interview was conducted by that BlogHer's
Morra Aarons-Mele. Transcript, and video, below.
SEBELIUS: And I would say that the Senate language, which was
negotiated by Senators Barbara Boxer and Patty Murray, who are
very strong defenders of women’s health services and choices
for women, take a big step forward from where the House left it
with the Stupak amendment, and I think do a good job making
sure there are choices for women, making sure there are going
to be some plan options, and making sure that while public
funds aren’t used, we are not isolating, discriminating
against, or invading the privacy rights of women. That would be
an accounting procedure, but everybody in the exchange would do
the same thing, whether you’re male or female, whether you’re
75 or 25, you would all set aside a portion of your premium
that would go into a fund, and it would not be earmarked for
anything, it would be a separate account that everyone in the
exchange would pay.
BLOGHER: It’s a bit confusing, but …
SEBELIUS: Okay. It is a bit confusing, but it’s really an
accounting that would apply across the board and not just to
women, and certainly not just to women who want to choose
abortion coverage.

Hey! I have an idea! Let's abort Sebelius and Blogher! What would
it be? A 120 trimester abortion?
JohnD| 12.22.09 @ 1:09PM
What is outrageous about this is that, as I understand it, and
abortion costs $500-1000, not enough to really break anyone of
even modest means. It is also an elective procedure for a
"self-inflicted" condition. (Setting aside the moral repugnance
of this to me and others in that it takes a human life).
So in other words, the Bureaucrats will deny life saving surgery
to a 75 year old who has "outlived their usefullness" in the eyes
of that bureacracy, and they will be allowed to die, but for
every woman that wants to take the life of their unborn child,
there will be a bottomless supply of money.
Culture of death, indeed!

This guy won't be paying for abortion services because I'll go to
jail first for refusing government-run health care, refusing to
pay the IRS-levied fines for this refusal, & Federal income
tax evasion.

I'm with you! I just hope another million people do the same and
force our dictators to change course.

You can challenge your arrest under the HC bill on Constitutional
grounds. . .

This is why I think this whole healthcare bill could just blow up
back in the house. I don't believe Pelosi has the votes to pass
this as it is from the Senate. The abortion part will either be
scrapped or kill the entire bill, the latter an option I don't
believe the leftists are willing to accept. Long way to go in
this battle for our freedom.

Claire McKaskill from Missouri said she would not support a
Healthcare Bill with that kind of abortion language in it. Where
is she hiding? I would like to hear a response from her!
