Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM),
the revolutionary group formed by self-described “communist” and
“rowdy black nationalist” Van Jones, held a vigil in Oakland,
California, “mourning the victims of U.S. imperialism around the
world” on the night after Sept. 11, 2001.
The reason this is important is because Van Jones is now
President Obama’s green jobs czar. He does not appear to have
distanced himself from his past communist activities and is now
part of the Obama administration’s push to turn Sept. 11 into a
National Day of Service focused on the promotion of the
radical environmentalist agenda.
The vigil was reported by World
Net Daily which excerpted parts of a history of the
now-disbanded group.
Apparently, after the WND article was posted online, the website
on which the original document was posted was overwhelmed by
visitors and unavailable. I found the article in the “Way Back
Machine” website (web.archive.org), an archival resource. The
2004 document, called “Reclaiming Revolution: history, summation
& lessons from the work of Standing Together to Organize a
Revolutionary Movement (STORM),” may be found on the archival
site
here. (In case that becomes unavailable, the document
“Reclaiming
Revolution” is available at the link embedded in this
sentence.)
Jones also founded the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, which
joined in the vigil according to an Ella Baker Center
press release from 2001. The press release contained this
passage that quoted Jones:
“Anti-Arab hostility is already reaching a fever pitch as pundits
and common people alike rush to judgment that an Arab group is
responsible for this tragedy,” said Van Jones, national executive
director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights. “We fear that
an atmosphere is being created that will result in official and
street violence against Arab men, women and children.”
“Reclaiming Revolution” also blamed the U.S. for 9/11. A passage
on page 45 (27 of the PDF file) reads:
That night, STORM and the other movement leaders expressed
sadness and anger at the deaths of innocent working class
people. We were angry, first and foremost, with the U.S.
government, whose worldwide aggression had engendered such hate
across the globe that working class people were not safe at
home. We honored those who had lost their lives in the attack
— and those who would surely lose their lives in subsequent
U.S. attacks overseas.
Michelle Malkin discussed STORM and “Reclaiming Revolution” on
the
“Glenn Beck Program” on Aug. 25.

I'm confused. Perhaps someone out there can help me.
What exactly does a Green Czar do? I assume he has an office and a desk and a phone and a six figure government salary but what does he do with these?
The little twisty bulbs with which we've replaced our old incandescents with are labeled GE but made in china and, presumably, fall under the aegis of a Chinese Green Czar. Most solar panels are manufactured abroad as well. Is the Green Czar's authority limited to service jobs like
collecting empties at the side of the highway and bringing them to recycling stations?
How did we get along for so many years without a Green Czar? What qualifies a headline-hungry black radical who vilifies Theodore Roosevelt who fathered the environmental movement to serve as Green Czar? Must one have black skin to be a Green Czar? Is a high opinion of Arabs and a low opinion of Americans required?
What specific education and experience must one have to qualify for the job? Is green-czaring more or less difficult than community organizing?
Where can unemployed Americans apply for a green job?
Many thanks.

Jones calls himself African and some Africans are paralyzed by blaming imperialism and colonialism for their problems just as Palestinians are stuck in greivance. Railing against American imperialism is blaming a strawman. The last thing working people need are his sillly green jobs.

Some questions:
- How on earth does a guy like Van Jones pass even the most rudimentary background check required for a position like this?
- Regarding the plethora of czars with dubious backgrounds - does Obama even know these people, or is being instructed who to choose?
- Where do the budgets for these czar's activities come from, aside from their salaries?
One can only hope that as the number of czars, and the scope of their activity, increasingly overrides the traditional duties of Congress, the giant egos on Capitol Hill will become fed up with their reduced role, and put a stop this executive branch power grab.

What Does Obama Know...?
Rudy Giuliani knew who Cloward and Piven were during the 'crisis' of the New York bankruptcy, and Giuliani named them by name.
Does Obama know about the 'Cloward / Piven Strategy' that Glenn Beck talked about on his Monday, August 24, 2009 FoxNews tv program?

Does Obama know that the 'Cloward / Piven Strategy' of overwhelming the federal and state welfare systems and thus the government is a strategy that the 'social justice' advisors and czars in his administration are openly advocating... only they're using nice sounding words like 'green' and 'social' and 'justice' and other marxist jargon?
Does Obama know this...?
Does Obama care...?
Skymom| 8.30.09 @ 12:28PM
His past wasn't considered because the Obama administration skirted the requirement for an FBI background check for these "czars". Glenn Beck's show covered this a few days ago if I recall.
Don't you love it -- no accountability to the people or Congress (such as it is), and no requirement that they meet even the barest standard with respect to their unseemly associations..

This situation might become clearer with the following translation:
1) Obama's community organizations are in fact a system of what was known in the defunct USSR as local soviets;
2) What our press calls the White House czars was in the defunct USSR known as komissars.
Are we now closer to the truth?

Mr. Smith:
You ain't loco. I see where you are coming from but I don't exactly agree with you. Going bankrupt is not an option though a very real probability. The problem as I see it is that bankruptcy will open a ditch we can't get back across. If it shuts down our infrastructure that will be like the collapse of the twin towers. I think you made a very good tactical point in your column that may cause a stray thought to pass through vacant minds.
This morning I have been writing a comment on an American Spectator column. I think it can be applied to commentary on your column from a different perspective. It all centers around the same core problem.

What are we looking for? Propaganda, accurate facts and reliable history or just a pat on the head?
Through my grandparents I know about Teddy Roosevelt's environmental concerns and the history that prompted it. Most of you don't. It would have little, if any, fellowship with the environmental movement that exists today. Today, our environment is a tool of both Russia and China and not necessarily for the same reason. List is too long for this posts.
Next, we have a professional agitator that has been promoted to a position where his poison can be all the more effective. His version of "justice" is far different than my version and definition. He would share the wealth, that is take from those who have and waste it on those who have not. I strongly believe in sharing the wealth but by trade. If you have nothing to trade we cannot do business and I cannot make a profit -- that is simply being paid my wage for my work just as you are paid for your work. Suppose I hired you for a job and paid good wages but you found out you could buy nothing with those wages? You could only buy from my store at my price. Would you want the job? I didn't think so. No, Karl Marx thought that business should not be paid a wage and our government has come up with numerous wild-eyed schemes to prevent a business from showing a profit. This is, at best, semantics since the underlying principle is a natural one that cannot be ignored nor replaced with a different system nor improved upon in any way.
There are two ways to spread the wealth, the preferred is trade at a profit. That means you should make a profit on what you sell me and I can make a profit on what I sell you. This may be a bit tricky to explain but our currency has no value of its own unless it it gold or something on that order. Gold works well because we like it. But, according to the King Midas Touch gold has its limits. The value of money is that it is so flexible. I can produce something someone is willing to pay for and go to the supermarket and exchange it for my food. The supermarket, in turn, takes that money to restock from suppliers that get gain by raising the produce the supermarket sells .... an endless circulation. When the government steals that money to give to those who will not produce or subsidize those who sell their product for more than the market will bear, they are not, I repeat, not putting money into circulation. They are effectively taking money out of circulation and reducing opportunity to prosper.
Now lets flip the coin. The other way to spread the wealth is to steal, rob, con, perpetrate fraud or any method that would take money from its rightful owner and give to an unauthorized recipient. Charity is something else that can go to a different commentary. We know that shoplifting makes us pay more at the store because the store must cover its leakage from shoplifting and this is a double aged sword. First, you have lost the replacement value of the object, then you may need to to sell several more of the same item to make enough profit to buy that replacement. Taxes has a similar effect so when the taxes are used in social engineering, as it is with this "green czar" business, something we need like cancer, it will reduce income and opportunity. Neither will it encourage some individual to develop something new or make a significant improvement on the old.
I want to close with a verse from John 12 that I hope you can see what it says rather than get sidetracked with thoughts on religion. Yes, it has religious significance but it has a strong practical application.
Joh 12:4 Then saith one of his disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon's son, which should betray him,
5 Why was not this ointment sold for three hundred pence, and given to the poor?
6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.
Now lets substitute Van Jones for Judas and see of it fits. If it does we know what needs to be done. And if it don't fit I owe Van Jones an apology.
Whit

Heck, everyone knows the whole world loves us. We are the most loved people we know.
"rowdy black nationalist". What is with the unassigned quotations? Ah, a quote's a quote.
Radical environmentalists - damn crazy environment lovers
So his group feared the incitement of street violence against Arab people after 9/11? Those bastards, wanting to protect innocent Arabs from retaliatory violence.
Then, he had the gall to express sadness and anger at innocent people being killed in the 9/11 attacks. How low can he go?
I guess the real lesson here. Never point out what your government does wrong, or assign blame to your government, unless you are a Republican pointing out what they think the Democrat led government are doing wrong.

I found the Van Jones clip to be very troubling on multiple levels.
If you put aside the "expletive deleted" nature and who the "expletive deleted" was target toward, the most troubling part becomes clearer.
First, the woman asked the question as to why the "party now out of power" in Congress was able when "in power" to pass legislation with less than the majority the current "party in power" enjoys, while the "party in power" can't seem to do the same thing. The response .. BS .. or as Barack Obama would call it .. a distraction. Obviously, this question was not supposed to be asked.
Second, the cynicism this man has for the environmental movement is unbelievable. "Green Jobs" aren't a viable economic product of reordered priorities based on good environmental principles, but rather a political opportunity. His appointment as "Green Jobs" czar shows that "Green Jobs" and probably the whole "cap-and-trade" legislation has virtually nothing to do with the environment, but rather is a source of funds to be squandered for patronage. Every environmentalist should be aghast.
