Bad news for environmental extremists.  Despite control of the government and media, the alarmists are losing the battle for public support.  Reports Rasmussen Reports:

The new survey also finds that 39% of voters believe global warming is caused by human activity, up from 34% in April. However, 44% say long-term planetary trends are most to blame for global warming. Last month, 48% cited this reason.

Despite the rise in voters who say human activity is to blame, the overall results represent a complete reversal from a year ago, when 47% blamed human activity and only 34% blamed planetary trends.

Democratic congressmen from blue collar districts should think very hard before they vote to wreck the economy with Waxman-Markey or anything similar.

These days Democrat congressman have a wide array of economy wrecking options to choose from.

Agreed, but this was their most favored method for bilking money out of every living human being. (besides Osama's 95% of Americans who don't use energy of any kind, that is, and therefore wouldn't experience an increase in taxes) I shudder to think what would replace this brilliant money grabbing scheme. Maybe a water tax or a life tax? What else does everyone use?

Headline about this poll really ought to read "Slight increase in belief in manmade global warming" as it represents a rise from last month. Still nowhere near last year.

Statistics are 73.2% useless. If you say 4.4 out of 10 people think that the Earth has climate cycles, does that mean 6 out of 10 don't?

If someone thinks the Earth is not in a climate cycle, they think climate is stable. Does that make any sense?

What matters is that climate is changing, and noone really cares about alarmists or denialists.

When you say wreck the economy, are you talking about the economy that already derailed?

I think you are confusing the past with the future. The economy is already trashed and continues to spiral down.

But then I am one of those realists. I know the pollution from my consumption is bad, and I am ashamed that I didn't stand up against oil 30 years ago.

In a free market, I could buy an electric car if I wanted one. In an oiligarchy, the US military is used to keep the cost of gas artificially low so as to squash alternatives. Hence this socialist oil state of America will soon collapse as all socialist economies collapse.
