The National Republican Senatorial Committee's endorsement of Gov. Charlie Crist for the Florida Senate seat, which Phil blogged about earlier, has drawn an angry reaction from the Florida-based Conservative Republican Alliance.

"In case the NRSC forgot, it was Governor Crist that openly supported the Obama 'stimulus' plan, and gave the plan political cover here in Florida," CRA chairman Javier Manjarres said in a press release. "Why does the NRSC issue an endorsement without even waiting to find out where the respective candidates stand on the issues?"

Manjarres, who supports Marco Rubio in the Republican primary, cited this ad as evidence that Crist can expect a strong conservative challenge:

Hey, let's all go on "Hypocrisy Watch"! Wait and see if everybody who slammed Pat Toomey for wading into the Pennsylvania Republican primary -- and scaring Arlen Specter into admitting he's long been a closeted Democrat -- will say the exact same things about Crist jumping into the Florida Senate against Marco Rubio (who already looks like a very hot ticket Right Republican contender). Or would it be that the more Leftward "moderate" Republicans always get a free pass for hammering conservatives in the GOP -- just because the non-Republican Leftists love "moderates" so much?

Let me state for the record, Crist should fill Specter's old seat (complete with RINO droppings).

The dummies that have "lead" the GOP the last 8 years are just plain dumb. Americans are not left wingers. This is just the type of bonehaed - let's be more left than the Dems - move that have resulted in the GOP getting waxed (some would say the Dems kicked their collectivist as*es) badly the last 2 elections.
The Spector lesson should still be fresh in their collectivist minds! But they are going to kill the party or Ronnie and remake it the party of the "new" left! Even if it means making it go the way of the Whigs. I will miss a conservative GOP but good riddance to the new liberal GOP!
