Just a friendly reminder that we do, in fact, have internships, and we're very flexible on starting dates. They're typically paid, depending on how long you can work with us. They're also, in the journalism world, very, very valuable. I worked on my college paper and thought I knew enough to get a start in journalism, and as it turns out, my AmSpec internship taught me I was wrong.

We're currently looking for good writers who want to learn a thing or two for the spring and summer. More information is on our About page. And even if you're not interested, you can pass this on to any college students you know -- people are always chomping at the bit for an opportunity for some real journalistic work.

One benefit among many is that we don't do the "Make A Copy For Me And Get Me Coffee" thing. Our interns get to write frequently and can really carve out a place for themselves if they have an idea of what they like to do. So come and be a part of the AmSpec family!

Actually, J.P., I think fetching coffee for the boss ought to be required of interns. There is educational value in reinforcing to kids the fact that, however much a bigshot they may be at college, they are on the bottom rung in the real world. That doesn't mean interns shouldn't get real news assignments. But they should also be required to bring the boss coffee, just so they don't get too cocky.

I wish I were a college kid again.

I'm with you there, Ruth. I'd be applying for this internship in a heartbeat. Hope y'all find a good one!

I'm no longer a college kid - Just graduated with a degree in economics, so I'm looking for a full-time job. I hear it's a great time to enter the labor market. Shouldn't people like me get a bailout? It's government intervention that made this mess as bad as it is - I want the New Labor Market Entrant Bailout. Maybe Obama can put me to work - at a time like this, all we need is more government employees. :)

I'm obsessed with political blogs, but only because I like to be informed and more equipped to defend conservative principles.

Nowadays, it is so hard to find a decent job after graduation even internship because there are some got unpaid. And due to the crisis right now, I found out about bloodbanker.com which they have all the information all of the Blood center in the United States where you can get paid $50/hour to donate blood!. This is really helpful even if it's just a part time job and the bottom line of this is to save lives. As we all know, Blood bank shortages kill tons of people all the time and it is time to spread the word about blood donation and give blood, you will never know when You might need blood.

By the way do you have a twitter or facebook account so that I can folow you.. I found your topic interesting.. thanks
