Perhaps Dunn meant to say that he is one of her favorite media strategists.
White House Communications Director Anita Dunn says that her comment about Chairman Mao as one of her “favorite political philosophers” has been badly distorted. Perhaps she meant to say that Mao is one of her favorite media strategists.
It is telling what Dunn regards as a reassuring defense: that she was only extolling Mao’s can-do attitude and that her admiration for it came from Lee Atwater. “The Mao quote is one I picked up from the late Republican strategist,” she said. So now the reviled creator of the Willie Horton ad is someone Democrats feel they can safely hide behind?
According to Dunn, she was simply telling the high school graduates to imitate Mao’s means, not his ends. Boy, what a relief. After all, his means were so blameless. “Figure out how to do things that have never been done before,” she told the students. And how did Mao accomplish that again? By killing 40 to 60 million people?
What might be called dilettantish socialism, of which Dunn’s bizarre graduation speech is a species (she thought it “ironic” to couple a mass-murderer with Mother Teresa in her motivational remarks to the graduates), is a recurring problem in this administration, and an expected one given that it reflects the sensibility of the boss.
Pressed by “Joe the Plumber” on the purpose of taxation, Obama fell back on the Marxist fragment “to spread the wealth around.” His memoirs contain an oblique mention of a Marxist mentor. He learned his community organizing from Saul Alinsky and his liberation theology from Jeremiah Wright. He blurbed one of the books of a Marxist terrorist and “educator,” Bill Ayers. And until recently, he was stocking his administration with figures like Van Jones, who openly talked of environmentalism as a tool of Marxist change.
That his communications director holds up Mao as a quote-worthy “political philosopher” fits into this picture nicely. And it is appropriate since White House aides are if nothing else pursuing a Maoist media strategy: control debates by trying to ban opponents from them. His press secretary Robert Gibbs even offered a Maoist-style take on Fox: it is motivated by “profit.” Why would a company be trying to make profit? Perhaps its property should be confiscated.
But some reliable liberals are finding this Maoist media strategy a little too transparent for their taste. Dunn’s anti-Fox antics were so ham-handed that not even Helen Thomas or Eugene Robinson on MSNBC could bring themselves to defend them.
It looked like a tired reprisal of an earlier popped trial balloon: Rahm Emanuel’s unleashing of Paul Begala and James Carville in February on Rush Limbaugh in the hopes of driving a wedge between conservatives and moderate Republicans. That just increased Rush’s profile and boomeranged back on Michael Steele.
Begala and Carville had been chosen for the task because they were outside the administration; Dunn, according to press accounts, was chosen for this one because she is an “interim” communications director and will soon be gone.
Fox is a “wing of the Republican party,” declared Dunn. If that is true, does that make ABC the “west wing of the Democratic party”? Dunn can walk down the hall and chat about media bias with Linda Douglass, the ABC reporter turned Obama press aide.
And what about MSNBC? To use Howard Dean’s phrase, it appears these days to be the Democratic wing of the Democratic party. The vast left-wing conspiracy has never been stronger. But to a Maoist, a ninety-percent-Democratic press corps just isn’t good enough.

One of my favorite philosophers, was a man named Andy Koblansky. He came to America from communist Poland in 1957, and I had the the pleasure of working with him for a few years in the toolroom of a machine shop in New Britain, Ct.
He used to say, "line them all up aganist the wall, and shoot the fucker's in the head, and start over!"
Beats the hell out of term limits.

Oh, I heartily agree: America will never be free until we shoot several hundred traitors. HOWEVER, we simply must use due process. After all, we didn't shoot the Nazis out of hand after WW2: we had war crimes trials, where the full extent of their atrocities came out in open court. This way, the evils they committed were entered into the history books, so that only nutjobs like the Holocaust denying "president" of Iran can try and deny their villainy
Likewise, we must do the same to the ObamaNazis currently slithering about this country. It is not enough to simply un-elect them: we must investigate, indict, prosecute, convict and then execute them.
Execute them for what? you might be saying. Well for starters, how's about giving aid and comfort to the enemy in time of war? For example, how about all the efforts that Nancy Pelosi made to subvert the war effort in Iraq, especially the surge? How's about when she got a sudden attack of "conscience" about the Armenians when she thought that she could stop the surge by denying our troops their supply lines through Turkey? How many of our brave soldiers lives were endangered by her goddamed grandstanding? For THAT ALONE she should be brought up on charges! And she is hardly the only one.

I agree Jeremy, but who are the Repubs gonna run? Candidates like Scozzafava or whatever her name is in NY? I mean the time is so RIPE for REAL conservative candidates and the stupid Repubs (Newt included) are still playing the "more-electable" game. Un-freaking-believable.
I don't get it. I truly don't. Americans don't want "moderate" Republicans. Americans want FREEDOM! Americans want representatives who actually, you know, represent THEM, not a party or PAC or special interest groups. Americans want candidates who understand the best way for government to help the American people is to GET OUT OF THE EFFING WAY, not clutter it up with more taxes and regulations and red tape.
But no, Republican "leadership" is probably going to give us Dem-Lite candidates in 2010. Its sad really and a reason why I truly feel there is no one who represents me at ANY level of government. I already shrugged and am not looking back.

Well, thank you Editors.
Last summer, (2008), I had done my homework, and began contacting friends and loved ones. Even here on the comments if you will recall, I utilized the phrase "pardon the shorthand, Communists".
Whew! I sure got some interesting feedback.
Let's not forget one key factor in Mao's version of "I won". ie: "finally...true power comes from the barrel of a gun".
I hope most of you are beginning to understand that our administration thinks the same way.
I dearly hope we can have an honest congressional election in 2010. By then, everyone but the whack jobs and quislings will have seen the destruction of our country reflected into their own living rooms...
So.
Do the Communists not know and plan for that?
Do they think we will melt under the heat?
Will we?
Crusader| 10.22.09 @ 10:38AM
You can all but guarantee the 2010 elections will be anything but "honest." It truly would not surprise me if something BIG happens next summer or early fall, right before the elections. Maybe a "right-wing nut job" becomes unhinged? Shoots up a mall or better yet a DMV or (even better still) an NAACP office? Hmmmmm. Better stop before I give Rahm any more ideas.

Dangerous, dangerous, stuff this Administration is playing around with. Now with Obama and his dispicable hacks declaring war on FOX, they have sent the message to their leftist allies in the MSM to pile on. The marginalization of ALL conservatives is in full attack mode. It is clear that Obama thrives in an atmosphere of tension and division. He and his thugs enjoy pitting Americans against one another. I sometimes get the feeling this guy would love to see riots in the streets of America, so that he can exercise even more Marxist control, while blaming the Right for creating the situation. Will the few on the Left with any decency put a stop to all this?
Yes, Obama has learned well from Alinsky and also "Uncle Frank", the self avowed Communist and pederast. Bill Ayers and his SDS friends are now in control of America. In the mean time, while Obama attacks FOX, good men and woman are dying in Afghanistan. Apparently the only war Obama wants to wage is the one against 1/2 of America. God help us all.

I’m sure some of older folks remember Mao’s Cultural Revolution. Mao recruited the young people into militias, and they went about the country, with aid from the government, killing anyone who dared not follow Mao’s party’s line. Whoever Mao criticized received the wrath of this youth movement-the Red Guard. When they ran out of enemies of the state they started “offing”each other. Kind of like gang violence, only more organized and government approved. The nation was left in shambles and the “producers” were pushing up Chinese daisys.
The Chinese government, a few years later, condemned Mao’s Cultural Revolution. The "Resolution on Certain Questions in the History of Our Party Since the Founding of the People's Republic of China" stated:
Chief responsibility for the grave "Left" error of the "Cultural Revolution," an error comprehensive in magnitude and protracted in duration, does indeed lie with Comrade Mao Zedong. Far from making a correct analysis of many problems, he confused right and wrong and the people with the enemy. Herein lies his tragedy.
Mao issued stupid decrees. Ordering farmers to kill sparrows because they ate crops, even though they were really eating insects. Ordering farmers to plant their seeds closer together to increase crop production, which doesn’t allow plants enough nutrients to grow, which resulted in crop failure and starvation. Ordering the farmers to produce steel in their backyards, which produced low grade metal, which in turn was used in construction projects that failed or rapidly deteriorated.
Truly a genius. I for sure want our graduating students to emulate him!! But they probably don’t need an example, as they will do stupid things anyway. Kinda reminds one of our own Messiah and Chief.

This piece is a real shame.
Conservatives have much to offer this country; you have so many good arguments to make. The critique of excessive government and liberal hubris that is at the heart of conservative philosophy is absolutely essential to the health of our democracy.
It is an utter shame you are abandoning the difficult work of making strong arguments in favor of easy, weak, shallow bullshit.

Lets have a go then. Since I am history major and I think I got a pretty good grasp of the subject, lets see what you got? I do after all read AmSpec and post on here from time to time. So I want to know what's different about you, as compared to me. I want to know what your background is that gives you such a advanced knowledge of history to support your statements above? How do you support your position with historical support?
Point out to me, where and how the Socialsit/Communist asscension is not relevant, in this context of the current administration being so obviously enamored with past Socialist/Communist policy AND theory.
Prove to me that Mao's policies and political purges from 1949-1975 are not directly responsible to have caused the deaths of between 40 to 60 million people. I bet you will not be able to do that? Explain to me how Moa's policies are not directly involved in this debate. Look and study the data and historical record before you answer that question please.
I ask you why is socialism/communism so repressive to its respective populace who are FORCED to submit to its form of goverment by a relative minority?
Explain to me how a comparison of the tactics and techniques used by the Marxist/Communists are not being looked at by the current administration as a model for spreading their agenda. (If you look at it objectively Liberal Reader you would understand what I am talking about there.)
Can you tell me WHY the left in this country has such an affinity for such leftist/communist icons such as Che Guevara, Mao Tse-Tung, Karl Marx and a whole myriad of other left wing ding-bats? Where is the historical data for these murderers that would warrant such admiration?
A quick side note here to illustrate my point.
I once asked my sister ( a flaming lib) why she disliked GW Bush so much. She responded with because he was a murdering thug who started a war in Afghanistan and Iraq. Serious. That was her reply. At the time, she was wearing a a Che shirt. You know the one I mean right? Its an olive drap color and has his face on there looking slightly upwards, kinda like the Barrack Obama Hope poster!
Why is there such a fierce attraction for Socialism in the United States although there is NO historical record of success for Marxism/Communism/Socialism being a productive and successful means of goverment when compared to a Capitalist Free Republic system of goverment?
Find me the historical record of that one there please?
Explain to me why most of the major universities in the United States retain educators with obvious socialist tendencies and agendas to advocate a curricullum of advocating the the Karl Marx method and model of goverment rule. This is a PROVEN Fact!
I have seen some of my proffesors bio's openly state that they admire Karl Marx, Mao Tse Tung, AND Josef Stalin, Why is that?
Please spare me rhetoric and mindless insults that have no bearing to a historical debate. If you are such a student of history that you can fling insults around as much as you do in here then by all means, lets have a historical debate on subject and philosophy. Do not prattle on with talking points you gain from all of your liberal goons that you follow as well. That road is nothing more than a racetrack and all you will do is continue to run in circle chasing your own arse.
I am waiting with anticipation Liberal Reader. Enjoy your research!

Liberal Reader| 10.22.09 @ 9:04PM
Bydand --
First, you consistently pose your challenges as negatives to be proven. As an educated man, you know full well logic never requires proof of a negative, since it cannot be done.
I cannot prove to you Obama is NOT a secret Maoist, waiting to jail political enemies and force the peasants to smelt pig iron intead of growing rice.
I can say that YOU have no evidence that we live in a Maoist communist dictatorship; that you have no evidence such a system is being implimented or contemplated by anyone -- except Glenn Beck and his half million know-nothing followers; that such a system would never and could never take hold in this country; and so on.
I did not praise Mao or Marx or Stalin. I simply complained that speculating about Obama as a communist is a stupid waste of time when conservatives have so many other, more promising arguments to make.
I've not prattled on with any liberal talking points. Reread what I wrote. How many liberal talking points have you see -- in all your years of extensive research and study -- that included calls for conservatives to bring forth their BEST arguments?
Bydand76| 10.22.09 @ 10:39PM
Liberal Reader,
If you do not support or heap praise on Mao Marx or Stalin the why do you come to the defense of people who do?
My challenge was to support your argument using historical data. In response to your statement that no one on AmSpec studies or knows their history. I dis agree with your premise that speculating on if President Obama is a communist or not is a waste of time. I always hear people in a debate say that the topic is a waste of time whenever they do not want to debate a particular contentious subject. For example, Al Gore saying the time for debate is over in regards to the Climate change argument. Ummmmm No its not! Where is his best argument? A lot of scientist dis-agree with him. Isnt that somewhat of a silly thing to do? They must have better arguments to make than that? Right?
If you need clarification on what I was asking you to provide and if I was being to vague in my inquiries then I will simplify and I apologize.
I thought I was being pretty straight forward in my questions that I posed to you
for example.
Prove to me that Mao's policies and political purges from 1949-1975 are not directly responsible to have caused the deaths of between 40 to 60 million people.
or this:
Why is socialism/communism so repressive to its respective populace who are FORCED to submit to its form of goverment by a relative minority?
This is fairly straight forward question Liberal Reader?
perhaps I can rephrase it here though,
Prove to me that the socialism/communism form of goverment isnt"t repressive to its respective populace who are FORCED to submit to its form of goverment by a relative minority? I would suggest reading up on The Iron Curtain in this matter. East Germany, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Yugoslavia.
Which segues nicely into this question I might add,
Can you tell me WHY the Left (in their own words and actions) in this country has such an affinity for such leftist/communist icons and ideaology such as Che Guevara, Mao Tse-Tung, and Karl Marx ? This is a simple opinion question.
another one,
Where/What is the historical data for these murderers that would warrant such admiration?
I will rephrase another question for you though in conceeding your position that it was a negative to be proven. Since "Logic" requires me to do so.
What is the historical record of success for Marxism/Communism/Socialism being a productive and successful model of goverment when compared to a Capitalist Free Republic system of goverment?
I will rephrase my last question as well.
Why do you think why most of the major universities in the United States retain educators with obvious socialist tendencies and agendas to advocate a curricullum of advocating the the Karl Marx method and model of goverment rule? (I would add economics into that equation as well but that would require a lot of time to debate)
I am just asking for your opinion backed up with historical data in this matter.
You asked this question,
"How many liberal talking points have you seen-- in all your years of extensive research and study -- that included calls for conservatives to bring forth their BEST arguments?
In almost every single debate both sides will implore their opponent to bring their best argument to the proverbial table. I think Rachel Maddow says that almost every single show she does. I would say that you by defending Liberals who are openly admiring communist icons such as Mao Tse-tung, is the same thing as advocating for their position. Can you bring a better argument to the table supporting the lefts point of view besides simply calling people names when they hold a different opinion? Can you argue the Liberal's best argument?
Actions speak louder than words Sir. If I see a duck, I call it a duck. Simple as that.
In my opinion, the actions of the current administration and of the Left in the recent years ARE reminiscent of communist tactics.
If you need an example though I can provide one.
Look at Hugo Chaves and his Socialist revolution taking place in Venenzuala. The first thing he did was consolidate indusrty by nationalizing the oil industry, removing executives of private corporations and silencing the independant media.
Are you seriously going to tell me there isn't the same thing going on right now in America. Goverment bailouts with socialist overtones, regulations on what American executives can be paid through their PRIVATE firms, The Fairness Doctrine. socialized health care that rivals the best of what Europe and Canada can offer. (Which is terrible compared to the current system in place in the United States)
We are closer to socialism in the United States now more so than we ever have been Sir.
I think that if you look at whom the President has surrounded himself with currently and in his past. I do not think that it is a too far flung conclusion that the current administrations actions can be parralleled to a socialist agenda or even perceived to be. I havent even brought up ACORN! But whatever, If you require further proof I would be happy to provide it for you.
Answer my questions though, sir. Make an opposing argument here.
Respectfully,
Pro Libertate!

Let me answer this empty-headed theoretician "Liberal Reader". I lived in a communist hell from the age of 12 to 24. We had a totalitarian government with the parliament, executive, and judges exclusively members of the Communist Party. Also police, city governments, bureaucrats, regulators, teachers, union heads (everybody was in a union, otherwise Gulag). My 3 uncles were executed; my father was sentenced to 10 years of Gulag. I was forced to pay lip service to the regime in order to study engineering.
1) We have the huge Democrat majority in Congress; we have a marxist revolutionary as President;
2) We have a system of unconfirmed czars (really komissars) in charge of finances, schools, health care, environment, energy, industries, and soon in charge of energy industries (oil, gas, coal, electricity);
3) We have a well-developed system of local soviets, here known as "community organization", with ACORN brownshirts and SEIU thugs, not to forget Black Panthers;
4) elections in 2010 will bring no change - widespread voting registration fraud and actual vote fraud will take care of that;
5) the Judiciary will be filled by marxists and racists;
6) Main Stream Media are already in marxist hands (NY Times, Wash. Post, NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, MSNBC, CNN, etc.)
7) our universities are 90% filled with marxist professors;
8) our schools are in the hands of marxist-led teacher unions.
I am out of breath - but I speak from experience that forced me to abandon my country, my family, my friends lo so many years ago. As for suitable future Gulag bosses I have several candidates: Pelosi, Shumer, Waters, Sharpton,... well, several others come to mind.

We have rid ourselves of more than one "Liberal Reader" over the years.
Remember the troll "Dave Mathews"? Well, the only difference between LR and that nut is a somewhat advanced vocabulary (not on display today, obviously). Both are adolescent schoolboys, dying for attention. It really doesn't matter whether it's good or bad attention, they just crave it. Arguing for the sake of arguing. It's got to be a miserable existence, and I pity them both. Such a shame to waste all that education on flawed philosophy, bigotry and hate.
That said, I pledge from here on out not to respond to such nonsense. Hopefully, this clown finds another site where It can hijack an otherwise sensible conversation among sensible people.
Hopefully AmSpec figures out a way to filter obscene language and purges trolls like It.
In the meantime, behold the Liberal philosophy, as it is exactly what inhabits our (yes, OUR) White House. The Chicago Way, Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals, thuggish behavior, whatever you want to call it.
I don't look to Mao, Castro, Hitler, Stalin, Chavez, or any of the other dictators / murderers for inspiration, but there are a whole lot of people in charge right now that do. I mean A WHOLE LOT. It scares the you-know-what out of me, and a lot of other Americans to. The fact that it doesn't seem to bother our resident troll is a little scary as well.
Please, sensible voters, get active over the next year. November, 2010 may be our last chance to fix this peacefully.

Lib Screeder and S.L.ick Toadturd are one in the same. This individual talks of debate and civility with one sock puppet and resorts to the most vile namecalling with another. Nothing but erudite patronizing arrogance in any form.
Trust me, pinch the troll off and flush it. It's not worth wasting the words.

To quote the Great Winston, we don't need no stinkin' Hitlers, Churchill:
"An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last."
Is that you LR?
We've never has such a schnorrer as this in the White House before.
Clinton and Carter were bad, but this boy takes the cake.
PS you can go Chris Matthews over his glistening pecs all you want, but you will still have to give up your liberties when he comes calling.

Liberal Reader ~ you are an idiot, we do not live in a democratic system, our country is a REPUBLIC, NOT A DEMOCRACY. GO BACK TO SCHOOL, PLEASE! You, my dear, are the weakling.
Curtis Rasmussen| 10.22.09 @ 9:45PM
Hey chuck, I am pissed about the ongoing destruction of the middle class through massive tax and spend crisis situations promulgated by our dear leader.
Unfortunately, they'll pull another card from their Marxist playbook to neuter any opposition. The Democratic socialists and their enablers want you to register your guns. That way they'll be easier to confiscate before they drop the most extreme portions of their draconian makeover of society.
victor| 10.22.09 @ 10:12PM
This isn't the UK, Canada or Australia.
Gun owners won't give up their guns, they will bury them along with 5000 rounds of ammo.
What they can't see they won't find.
When Guns are outlawed,
only outlaws will have guns.
Funny how the Right to Bear Arms came right after the First Amendment's Five Freedoms:
Religion, Speech, Press, Assembly and Redress of Grievances.
Can't have them without an Armed Force to back them up.
Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for dinner. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

In case you ever want to let a FACT invade your creepy ideological cave:
Canadians OWN MORE GUNS per capita than Americans do.
That's right. Those evil socialists to our north are even more gun-totin' than you.
I guess that means you're a total freakin' pussy, doesn't it?
Imagine that.
Bydand76| 10.22.09 @ 11:35PM
Canada's population is listed at 33,820,000 for 2009, Nearly 22% of Canadian adults had at least one firearm
United States Population : 307,768,000 for 2009
About 25% of the adults in the United States personally own a gun
Kind of hard to argue with the numbers there Liberal Reader.
Even using a per capita standard this would be almost a statistical improbabilty

1/3 of Obama's stimulus package CUT taxes on the middle class.
Your Republican friends cut taxes for the wealthy and INCREASED the tax burden on the middle class.
Can you not get it?
The Democrats want to LOWER your total tax burden if you earn less than 250,000 a year.

I have a short story, speaking of Mao. I used to post on a home decor type website where you'd go in and rate people's rooms, etc. It was alot of fun at first. Till one day a guy, a designer, submitted some of his own pics of his place. On one wall was a huge print of Mao. Because of my posts with him I got a warning e mail from the owners telling me to cool it. They removed some of my posts as well, but numerous posters had been written calling GW a murdering thug, etc. Those posts remained. I told the guy bye bye and what a disgrace that he allows people to call our President a murderer but doesn't mind Communist defenders to roam freely. Sad state of affairs.

You tell me it's the institution

Nice column, George. It's becoming clearer by the day that the hacks in the Obama administration will soon overplay their hand big-time.
On another note, Al Gore started the Willie Horton stuff before Atwater, but I'm not sure whether he just mentioned it in a debate and/or on the campaign trail, or whether commercials were aired.
At any rate, Willie Horton is NOT why George H.W. Bush trounced Dukakis. It was because Bush had a much more impressive resume, and Dukakis proved himself to be just another feckless flaming liberal. The brain-dead media has repeated the lie umpteen times that the Willie Horton ads are what decided the election, but the facts are not in agreement.

The real issue with me and Anita Dunn is the speech she made. For any American to present themselves to a class of young people as believing in a murdering dictator's philosophy and contrasting his philosophy with Mother Theresa's is reprehensible.
She is a perfect example of the "philosophical" system of "getting the young minds" before they have a chance to discover why capitalism and our form of goverance works. I would bet that she has never worked in the private sector and wouldn't know how to do that. That is why she buys into the false notion that government is the answer and the control for everything.
I hope to God those seniors were smarter than she and refused to applaud her nonsensical speech presented as "joking around."

Getting Hercules to Help You
Hercules won’t help you until you have all five items from Zeus’ quest. Once you have the five items, bring them to Athena. Zeus will appear and steal them. The big jerk! Once this happens, talk to Athena and she will tell you that Hercules will help you. You’ll need to have the magic mirror from Aphrodite because Hercules doesn’t want to have to walk. He’s so lazy!
Getting the Hydra Scale
You can see how to do this in the videos, but basically you need to jump up when the Hydra is about to strike. He will rear one of his heads back to attack and his eyes will bulge out. When this happens, jump up in the air and then try to land on top of his head. That head will get knocked out. When all five heads get knocked out, the ArenaBetting.com dukung fair play FIFA world cup AFSEL 2010Hydra will be asleep and you can click on him to get one of the scales. Loved the article and do agree with George's interpretation of it.
I come from a communist country so I guess my opinion is a bit blurred, but to be honest I believe that every social system has problems whereby the people suffer
