Israel’s Existential Threat
Israel won’t live with a nuclear Iran, and time is running out for a diplomatic resolution.
Israel will not tolerate a nuclear Iran and is prepared to take military action to prevent the possibility of the Islamic regime obtaining such weapons should diplomacy fail, according to a senior Israeli security source.
“If you consider the prospect of military action, you have to consider the alternative of a nuclear Iran, and that reality is worse than the consequences of any military action,” the source said in an interview conducted last week in Tel Aviv.
In the United States, there is a vibrant debate over how seriously to take the threat of Iran becoming a nuclear power. In the wake of the Iraq War, there is little appetite among Americans to launch a military strike on another nation in the Middle East in the name of preventing it from obtaining weapons of mass destruction. Some American analysts argue that the Iranian regime would never risk its own demise by using nuclear weapons, and they have dismissed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s declaration that Israel should be “wiped off the map” as mere rhetoric.
But in Israel, the issue is a lot less muddy. While dangers from Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist groups persist, a nuclear Iran would threaten Israel’s very existence. A majority of the country’s population resides on a narrow strip of land along the coast, north and south of Tel Aviv, making the prospect of a nuclear blast in the area catastrophic. With the memory of the Holocaust seared into the minds of Israelis, they don’t have the luxury of debating whether or not to take Ahmadinejad at his word.
“There’s no margin of error, because you can’t take the risk that they have the capability, and that it’s only a matter of intentions,” the security source explained. Iran could decide that they “have the ability to finish the Jewish problem once and for all…so this is something we cannot tolerate.”
The source said “the international community’s pressure on Iran isn’t efficient” and predicted that “the window of opportunity will close, and soon. We’re not talking about decades, but years. Perhaps months.”
Asked specifically whether or not Israel would resort to military action, the source responded by saying that “all the options are on the table and relevant.”
Noting reports that Iran had learned a lot from Israel’s air strike on Iraq’s Osirak reactor in 1981 and had spread out its nuclear facilities and buried them under bunkers, TAS asked, “Do you think there is a viable military option?”
The source then repeated the earlier statement about keeping all options on the table, but placed special emphasis on the words “and relevant,” later adding that, “there is a point that we may be forced to take action because of the alternative.”
Meanwhile, an Israeli official familiar with the ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent a nuclear Iran argued that there were still tools that could be employed against Iran to resolve the issue without military action, but said that at the moment, Iran seems intent on continuing its nuclear program.
“You don’t find a lot of countries on Earth as determined as Iran,” the official said.
According to the source, the combination of diplomatic and economic warfare could be effective in thwarting the nuclear ambitions of the Iranian regime, especially with the price of oil declining, and given the fact that Iran imports a majority of its refined oil. The problem is that at the moment, the UN Security Council process remains “frozen” and Russia and China have prevented sanctions that would have had more teeth.
Over the course of the campaign President-elect Barack Obama called for engaging Iran, even famously vowing to hold unconditional talks directly with President Ahmadinejad. The position makes Israelis nervous because it could allow Iran to buy more time to perfect its uranium enrichment capacity.
“Israel is not ideologically opposed to engagement, but we don’t want to put the cart before the horse,” the official said.
Citing a recent report by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the official explained that Iran had overcome many technological challenges, and once it mastered the nuclear fuel cycle, it could be well on its way to obtaining nuclear weapons should it decide to go that route.
“Iran is trying to run out the clock, and the international community keeps struggling for a magic formula, and it hasn’t found one yet,” the official said.

And why did America allow those Mossad agents that were caught after Sept 11th spying in America who were the agents who carried out the attacks on the World Trade centre, why did these people who were caught with traces of explosive on their hands and cloths allowed to leave America?.
America and Europe would do well to address this problem, carefully. And do not allow agents to kill the expert this time like they murdered Dr Kelly, who was an expert in these things who warned the people that this was infact not true after he did he was exposed instead of being protected, and was killed.
I know why Israel is doing these things, and I know it's wrong, but Israel has become so powerful that no one dares challenge them because they are operating inside governments in America and in Europe at the higest levels. It's like having the CIA having a KGB spy inside providing information to Russia, its as bad as that.
The fact that people can change their names and get Jobs in Government to become spies, and have two or three different passports. Now if any of these agents were found out they would leave the country and Israel has no treaty to extrodite any one back to the US to stand trial for these activities. The whole story needs to be exposed.
In both Republican and Democratic Party because these people are in both camps. If it were said no attacks on Iran till Israel gave up the west Bank the Golan Hights, the Gazza Strip, and all the land stolen from the Palestinian people, and an independent state formed, they would say the people of Gazza has Nuclear bombs.
Now lets look at the truth, who really has the Nuclear Bombs in the middle east one country and one country alone and its Israel, now why Israel must agree to dismantle their Nuclear bombs, they got them illegally and should not be dictating who has what.
If what they say in the Protocols of Zion the Nuclear bombs is to kill all peoples in the world which includes Europeans and Americans and None Zionist. Every one must hate Arabs, and Muslims because Muslims are their neighbours, they are not my neighbours, but they are Israels neighbours there is a deep seated hatred of all none Zionist especially Muslims. That is why Israel has refused to live peacefully with any of its neighbours and does not care to what extent it goes towards killing Arabs and more importantly stealing land which is called land grab.
No one in the Arab world would be stupid enough to use Nuclear boms in an oil rich area because the bombs would ignite the whole area, and that is why what israel is saying makes no sense.
Which brings the question why have they got 200 to 300 Nuclear war heads we dont know what the range is the only people they could use it on is us in the west. If they used it in Israel or any where in the Middle East it would poison every thing and make every thing Nuclear Radio active, soil drinking water and so on, poisoned like what happend in Vietnam. There are children still being born extreamly defective. There are people being born on Iraq extreamly defective due to depleted Uranium in cluster bombs dropped in the area, so this is a very dangerious proposal. And no Government either in Europ or America should allow them selves to fall into another Israeli trap. since 1948 to 2008 These people had the chance to formulate peace and have chosen not to why?. I think to solve this problem there should be a delegation of people formed one frome each country to investigate Israel's claim, and put a stop to their activities of stiring up trouble in the Middle East they have been doing this for 50 years, and it's time the world put a stop to it, before it cost us the planet.

Daphne, remember what happened to nazis in Prussia in 1945-- they were horribly mutilated. They had thought they were nordic supermen, but after being dismembered they no longer thought so. They got what was coming to them.
Perhaps something similar will happen to certain enemies of Israel? One never knows.

Let me strip this situation of all the internationalism, Zionist and Muslim, Arab and European nonsense and try to explain Israel's reasoning for Daphne.
In a neighborhood, there is a house. The tenants of that house are poor and not well liked by their neighbors. The property is so rundown that even the current owner doesn't want it. He gives it to a new family. The new family moves in and begins to renovate the house. The new owner does not evict the current tenants, but puts in place new rules that anger some of them. They move onto the property of adjoining landowners. Now trouble begins.
The neighbors mount attacks against the new owners and try to drive them from the property. They fail and, in the process, lose some of their lawns to the new homeowners. A little while later, they try again. And again they fail. The neighbors try a new tack to force the new homeowners to leave. They encourage the former and current tenants to attack the homeowners and vandalize their property. The police refuse to actively assist the new home owners and leave them virtually on their own.
Now, one neighbor, who lives a few houses away from the new homeowners, not only pays and equips the tenants to attack the new homeowners and their property, but he begins to build several very large bulldozers. He says that he needs them to work his vegetable garden, but the garden is so small that they are not needed. Then, the neighbor begins to threaten to destroy the new homeowners and their home. He encourages the tenants to step up attacks on the homeowners. He ignores all attempts to dissuade him from his stated course by the police and the town council. He continues to build the bulldozers. Now the homeowners know that once the bulldozers start rolling, nothing will be able to stop them. But, if they can be damaged sufficiently to render them immobile, then they are no longer a threat. The new homeowners have a bulldozer of their own, but are reluctant to use it. They just wish to be left alone.
Now, substitute Israel for the new homeowners, Palestinians for the tenants, Egypt, Syria, and Lebanon for the next door neighbors and Iran for the neighbor with the bulldozers. This is the situation that exists. Stripped of all the intellectualizing of who's right and who's wrong and claims to territory, etc., this is the situation.
If you were the new homeowners, what would you do?

Israel needs to take out Iran's facilities prior to January 2oth 2009.
They need to strike hard and furious while Bush is still able and willing to help them if need be.
A total knock out of Iran's potential nuke sites will take Iran at least 10 years to rebuild to today's levels and by then Obama and his band of merry folks will be a distant memory.
