Winnipeg Jets Reborn
by

As Joe Lawler noted this morning, the NHL and True North Sports are set to announce that the Atlanta Thrashers are going to move to Winnipeg next season. The Winnipeg Jets have been reborn.

So which Canadian city is more stoked right now, Vancouver or Winnipeg? Yes, the Vancouver Canucks have the opportunity to become the first Canadian team to win the Stanley Cup since 1993. But the good people of Winnipeg have been without an NHL franchise since the Jets moved to Phoenix in 1996 and have been fighting hard to get them back.

I am sure Winnipeggers will take to the streets to rejoice and sing Joey Gregorash’s “The Hockey Song.”
