There’s an old adage which goes, “If you throw enough mud on the wall some of it will stick.”
This is precisely what those who want to put an end to Herman Cain’s presidential ambitions are doing – throwing mud on the wall in the hope it will stick.
Yet for all the allegations of sexual harassment that have been leveled against Cain, there have been no specifics. What we have are women who were allegedly made to feel uncomfortable “by gestures that were not overtly sexual.” What we have is a claim by a witness who claims these allegations will “be the end of his campaign” who I would hasten to add supports Rick Perry and does polling on behalf of a Perry SuperPAC. What we also have is allegation by radio talk show host of “awkward/inappropriate things” said to his staff. For good measure, he makes a note of saying “the guy’s wife is never around.” All it amounts to is a lot of mud.
Enough is enough!!! If Herman Cain is a menace to society then why weren’t these allegations raised when his poll numbers were in the single digits? Let’s hear what exactly what crimes against humanity he’s supposed to have committed. If no one is prepared to come forward and make specific, substantive allegations then I have no choice but to conclude that those who are casting stones aren’t telling the truth.
Now I realize that people have reservations about Cain with regard to the merits of 9-9-9/9-0-9, his statements on abortion and his lack of experience in foreign policy matters. If Republicans prefer to vote for another candidate on the basis of his position these issues then fine. This is what Cain should be judged upon not on the basis of unsubstantiated rumor and innuendo.
