The Glory of Timely Leftist Overreach
by

It has been a week of historic dimensions, one that future scholars and psephologists will cite as the turning point when the anticipated 2018 mid-term “Blue wave” subsided permanently.

The excellent Trump presidency nevertheless continually encounters spurts of sabotage at regular intervals from the Seedier Media. Perhaps no month of the rollercoaster — great Trump Administration attainments disrupted by concerted media campaigns to destroy — was more hectic than June 2018. It began with the President, against all odds, going to Asia and opening a possible aperture of opportunity to change the course of the North Korean annoyance. No President before him has succeeded in dealing effectively with North Korea. All American predecessors have fallen into the same quagmire: give the NoKo dictator everything he could ask for, obtain reciprocal promises of peace — and then, after we indeed have given everything we have promised, they breach all promises. We then are stuck until Pyongyang exhausts all the goodies and needs refills.

This President is different. He is a tough-nosed negotiator, not an effete politician who basks in good headlines lacking substance. He sized up the little pudgy dough-boy with the shared curious affinity for a signature hairstyle from Pluto and charted an undeniable initial breakthrough. He set the meeting on his terms, canceled the meeting on his terms, restarted the meeting on his terms, and signed the mutual agreement at the end of the talks. The Seedier Media initially reported in unison that he would not be primed for conducting a serious meeting, then reported in unison that he had botched the chance when he canceled and, next, that he did not prepare adequately in advance of arriving for the meeting that materialized because it never had been botched. The perplexed pundits were caught flat-footed when the President and Kim signed a pre-arranged mutual pact that the media never imagined Trump’s team had prepared. Imagine: Mike Pompeo, John Bolton, and a staff of diplomatic experts, proving to be more experienced and sophisticated than several recent journalism grads and a few tired veterans cutting their teeth on politics in front of a CNN or MSNBC camera crew. People who could not even stand up to Matt Lauer at NBC and Charlie Rose at CBS pontificating about Trump’s mettle.

To steal Trump’s thunder and abate his rising poll numbers, the coven of Seedier Media conspired promptly to create a new story line out of left field, a false narrative of a cruel Administration tearing fetuses from their mother’s wombs. Well, actually, in LeftMediaLand that is OK to do — especially if it is a late-term abortion where they actually can rip off real limbs from the Mom’s children. Nothing wrong with crushing little heads and tearing little baby parts from mothers. Rather, here were the compelling photo ops of alien mothers and fathers at our Southern border breaking as many laws as Hillary and Huma — and just as rapidly — but, unlike Hillary and Huma, being treated with justice. So, after defying the laws of our country and marching illegally into our country without proper papers or permission, the parents were taken into custody — and that became the worst war crime since the Seventeenth Century Chmielnicki pogroms. Suddenly, America was worse than Nazi Germany. Trump was Hitler again. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Gestapo. Concentration camps all over America. And a little girl who started crying when her Mom put her down for a moment before picking her back up became the whining face of the Persecuted Millions who through the centuries have suffered at the hands of the White Privileged Civilization that we may blame on Columbus: innocent victims going back to the pure unsullied from the darling Incas and Aztecs — who used to fry their children alive as offerings to their gods,“cut[ting][ out their hearts, decapitat[ing], claw[ing], slic[ing], ston[ing], crush[ing], skin[ning], bury[ing] alive or toss[ing] victims from the tops of temples” — to other pure and innocent victims of European Christendom, including but not limited to Custer’s and others’ sparing partners, the native pacifists whose contributions to the Continent included scalpings, kidnappings, rapes of the Other, and roasting enemies alive.

If the Seedier Media had helped the Democrats and the Left blunt a bit of Trump’s rising tide after North Korea and the successful transfer of America’s Israel embassy to Jerusalem, buttressed at home by a booming economy, record lows in Black and Latino unemployment, and huge reductions in food stamp and welfare use, the Democrats proved determined to wrest defeat from the jaws of victory. In doing so, they have returned to their history of overplaying a decent hand just in time to save the country.

In 1972 Richard Nixon was seeking a second presidential term, and he should have lost big. To set the moment in time: The Watergate break-in happened mid-June 1972, five months before the Presidential election. There was no Fox News or Rush Limbaugh in those days, and the Democrats had plenty of time to cook Nixon over Watergate. To the degree that Nixon would gain plaudits for extricating from Vietnam, that did not happen until March 29, 1973, so that did not meaningfully impact November 1972. Likewise, to the degree that Nixon would win eternal thanks from several demographics for racing to Israel’s defense during the Yom Kippur War — well, that also happened a year after the 1972 reelection effort. And there just was something about the public Nixon that made him hard to like if you did not know him personally. Liberals could not stand him. Conservatives knew that we could not trust him. With the exception of his naming William Rehnquist, he made terrible Supreme Court picks, imposed wage-and-price controls, was more focused on détente with Brezhnev and rapprochement with Communist China than with authentically conservative principles. And yet, by golly, he won the presidency with the biggest landslide of all time. How was that possible? Because the Dems, smelling GOP blood in the water, overplayed their hands and went with the most radical left candidate they could find, George McGovern.

And they are doing it again. They had one good week on MSNBC and CNN: They got to call all their enemies “Nazis” and “Gestapo,” and they got to compare lawful border enforcement to gassing children to death with Zyklon B, then stripping the corpses’ skin to make lampshades, shearing their hair to stuff mattresses, extracting gold fillings from their mouths, and then shoving their little remains into ovens to incinerate them. A great week from Morning Joe to Comedy Central at Night. And how did the Dem liberals play their ascendant hand?

A crazed proprietor threw some Republicans, including the President’s press spokesperson and her Democrat relatives, out of her dingy drek restaurant. Some unemployed and unkempt Leftist radicals harassed the Attorney General of Florida in her face at a movie theater showing a film that celebrated a model of tolerance, Mr. Fred Rogers. Others harassed a cabinet secretary at her home. And the blessed Maxine Waters — may she live to 120 years, and may she always be reelected to serve the loyal troglodytic constituents of her bewildered district who so very much deserve to have her as their voice and champion in Washington — the blessed Maxine urged the physical harassment of government officials. And overnight the Dems lost the momentum.

May the L-rd bless her and keep her — in the news.
May He make the television cameras and their klieg lights to shine upon her.
May He grant her peace so that she never hesitates to speak publicly.
Amen. Selah.

In America, we do not physically harass elected officials. Rather, we organize election campaigns to throw them out. Sometimes, when we cannot wait —for example, recall Gray Davis, the Marvin K. Mooney of California, of whom Democrats and Republicans joined in chorus with the plea “Gray Davis, Will You Please Go Now!” — we throw them out only months after electing them. Otherwise, we wait till the next electoral cycle. For those of us who could not stand Obama, we accepted our setbacks in 2008 and 2012 when we ran RINOs who could not even put out fires, and we re-doubled our efforts when he and his wife campaigned to install as his successor his dishonest, cheating, and utterly irritating first Secretary of State — for she’s a jolly good felon. But, goodness! we never harassed Obama or Michelle. We never harassed Hillary. That is not American.

It also is solipsistic, like the child who thinks you cannot see her because she is covering her eyes and cannot see you. Well, who says that Antifa animals bothering Pam Bondi and Sarah Sanders are the only harassers in our Nifty Fifty? (Obama Alternate Fact: 57.) There also are lots of conservative harasser-wanna-bes out there among the 325 million in this country, of whom more than 300 million are here legally. Like — what? — no one would organize to harass Maxine?

And now the next overreaching — the McGovern Moment: as if to augur their impending doom at the hands of the gods, by demonstrating that Zeus & Co. now are busily driving them into madness, the Democrats have begun calling for the abolishment of ICE and the end of border enforcement. Beyond Maxine and Pelosi, it is a gift that will keep giving through November. No matter one’s personal philosophy on matters ranging from building The Wall to deporting the Illegals, the overwhelming majority of Americans demand some kind of border enforcement. Without ICE, an America envisioned by Cynthia Nixon and the fellow crazies now gaining serious hearings among Democrats would be invaded by opioid smugglers, human traffickers, and outright terrorists.

To be sure, in all honesty, Republicans may well be exaggerating ramifications of the recent Democrat primary election of a Bronx socialist. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez got 16,000 votes and Joseph Crowley got 11,000 in a District of, uh, 691,000 people. Even ten percent is not an endorsement of an ideology. Look more closely at that District: (i) more than 40% of the population speak Spanish at home; (ii) 57% were born in Latin America; (iii) ethnic-racial composition 50% Hispanic, 11% Black, and 18% White. In a primary among Democrat voters whom Crowley helped brainwash, alongside Pelosi and Hillary, into thinking solely along the lines of Identity Politics — c’monof course the Hispanic beat the White guy! Rather than being a harbinger of a socialist trend, 28-year-old Ocasio-Cortez’s victory actually better parallels the Brooklyn Democrat primary shocker of 1972 when House Judiciary Chairman Emanuel Celler — the longest serving Congressional representative in New York history, then in his fiftieth year in the House — lost his primary to 31-year-old Elizabeth Holtzman, who simply energetically knocked on doors and convinced the locals that their incumbent representative was uncaring, out of touch, and too busy making national policy in D.C. to bother campaigning for their vote.

But we live today in an era of Media-fabricated Myth — not facts. And that Myth — of a rising Socialist tide bubbling among the Democrat electorate that will consume all Democrat incumbents who fail to join the International in time to demand the eradication of ICE and open borders — now assures that Democrat overreach will lead them into an electoral abyss, with the red leading the blind. Not that the Dems will get eviscerated — it is, after all, a mid-term. But they now are ruining their once-hyped impending wave by overplaying their hands in a frenzy of insanity. When they shift colors from Dem Blue to Socialist Red, it will be GOP Red they will reap. All grown-ups understand boundaries and want some kind of border enforcement. And Maxine is the Vaccine to prevent the Blue wave.
