Spider-Man on Broadway: A Tangled Web
by

Last night, one of the stunt doubles performing in the preview of the Broadway play Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark was seriously injured and was hospitalized after falling 20 to 30 feet when his harness snapped.

This is the fourth time in the past month a performer associated with this play has required hospitalization.

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is, of course, a collaboration between Julie Taymor (who won a Tony Award for directing The Lion King) and Bono and The Edge of U2. This collaboration has already become the most expensive production in the history of Broadway – and it hasn’t even officially opened yet. As of this writing, it is scheduled to open on February 7, 2011.

I  have a very bad feeling someone is going to get killed before it’s all said and done.
