I am glad to hear from Jim Antle that everyone down at The American Spectator HQ is alright. As of this writing, there are no reports of fatalties from this afternoon’s 5.9 magnitude Mid-Atlantic earthquake that could be felt as far up north as my old stomping grounds of Ottawa, Ontario.
Apparently, the earthquake could be felt here in Boston as well. The earthquake apparently struck at 1:51 p.m. I was outside at the time near the Boston Common but I didn’t notice a thing.
On a personal note, my father was in Los Angeles during the earthquake which struck in January 1994. In fact, he had just arrived the previous evening to my aunt a visit. Strangely enough the topic of earthquakes came up. Dad asked, “What time do earthquakes usually strike?” To which my aunt replied, “About 6 a.m.”
Well, a few hours later the earthquake happened. Dad awoke and said, “Oh, it must be 6 a.m.,” and then promptly went back to sleep.
